Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
If nagging means reminding him to take his meds, then...guilty as charged. :-)

Good.
I’m sure I don’t have to tell you, but it’s best to cut pain off at the pass so to speak than to try to catch up and pass it. In other words, treat it before it gets too bad.
They taught me that in nursing school.
s-m-r-t.
Well good. I’m glad to hear it.
We’ve got clumsy cats. I didn’t think that was supposed to happen. They keep falling off things.
It’s so pretty outside, and we’re having our first fairly chilly morning.
So my feet are aching. Heh.
Good morning!
I'm fixing to take Joseph up to Wally World so he can do the next round to get hired. He'd applied for a part time job several weeks ago, but was told there were no places available in the Electronics Dept. Then they called him back last week and asked him to come in for an interview. He did that yesterday, we did the backing and forthing needed to get him a work permit, since he's under 18, and we got it back to them just before 5 yesterday. He's going back in at 10, and I don't know if it's a second interview, or if this is it and he's going to fill out the employment paperwork.
Bless his heart, he's applied so many places and just couldn't find anything; mainly because a lot of places don't hire under 18's. If he gets this, then it will be a great thing for when he looks for the next job; at least he'll have SOME work experience on his resume. Even in the Electronics Dept. he's going to be limited to being a cashier, answering questions and stocking shelves. He can't get games out of the locked cabinets ( because some of them are 'Mature' games) until he's not considered a 'minor' anymore, and that's, unfortunately, that doesn't just mean 'under 18'. Even when he turns 18 in Feb., he won't have gotten his High School Diploma, so he's still considered a minor. I told him that HE can remedy that by working like a dog to finish all his subjects early and get the diploma, since he's not held to the public school schedule. I think this will be an incentive for him, because he was talking like he wants to be done with everything by the beginning of April. Works for me!
We had a dachshund like that. Pumpkin was just a goober from the start!
It’s great to find someone with that breadth of experience!
No, I don’t have her name; please freepmail it to me!
Good drugs.
Morning coffee funkle! See y’all later, folks!
He could probably also take the GED if you wanted to let him, if he won’t be finished with the classwork before his birthday.
*Insert something about darn socialists idiocy*. Either you’re an adult at 18 or you’re not. Are 17 year olds with diplomas considered adults?
Heh...Tam isn’t clumsy, but Halvah sure is. Sometimes when I’m getting ready in the mornings, she’ll jump onto the edge of the tub (which is pretty wide, really), slip and fall in.
Then, of course, she pretends it didn’t happen. Or that she meant to do that.
Hey, it’s pick on Halvah day!
I was 17 with a diploma when I joined the Air Force. Still wasn’t considered legally an adult for that purpose - my parents had to sign for me. Kind of embarrassing.
I was 18 by the time I got to boot camp, but they picked on the 17 year olds a bit. “Your parents signed your life away!”
Boot camp is a total mind game.
Good news. My guess is with Walmart it’s to fill out paperwork.
mmmm drugs....
Glad to have you back. Knew they could not keep you down long.
The kittens keep almost jumping up on tables... trying to hang on, and slipping helplessly back down... It’s not very dignified.
Heh...I can picture that.
Speaking of dignified. We were out at the open air mall on Sunday. They allow people to bring their dogs (watering places, clean up places, etc).
There was a man and his daughter there with their Harlequin Great Dane. HUGH dog, but absolutely beautiful.
He's almost done, anyway, so we're not going to bother with a GED. In MA, if you're under 18 and want to take the GED, you have to get permission from the School Dept, even if you're beyond the age of compulsory education, and are being homeschooled. It's really stupid. There are some kids who could easily pass when they're Sophomores in high school, and go on to do something else they find more interesting, like a trade, or go on to start college, but they have to jump through myriad hoops to do it.
