At least you’re making progress. I’ve been working on a story for 4 months and still have only 19 pages.

Good luck with the work! Getting yourself into a late night mode is probably a good thing. And it’s a good thing it’s on a weekend night so you can come home and just crash!

So, I've got a plot (psychic finder finds love with statuesque innkeeper despite the EM pulse that has isolated the town and in the face of the suddenly dangerous townspeople and the even more dangerous bad guys coming from the outside). As of today, I have visuals of my hero and heroine.

Eduardo Verástegui is a durn fine-lookin' man, whether dolled up ---

or a little more real-guy ...

I love this montage ... a great range of expressions to work with.

As for my heroine ... well ... right now, I like this lady ...

Ms. Lainie Kazan.

There's a video of her with Dean Martin; she's been committed to comic-book history as Big Barda; she's had a Playboy shoot. That's a wealth of material to work with ...

I toyed with the idea of a tiny little blonde as Grace ... but I like Lainie better. A single mom and innkeeper has to be robust ... and I wanted an earth-mother type. <laughing>

Now I need to flesh out my outline ... and I only have 6 days!!!

I got an e-mail from my big sister today telling me that her daughter's new kitchen was in a New Orleans magazine! Here's the link to the page. If that just takes you to the table of contents, click on the Home Feature, and turn the page past the first kitchen to the second; the Finnegan/Cusimano kitchen. Natalie's brother built the cabinets. I told my sister that I don't think I could live with the red cabinets, but I loved the mosaic tiles in the backsplash. That's where they brought in all the colors they used; yellow, red and blue. That cobalt blue Viking stove was a wedding gift to them from his family, but they'd never installed it, because they hadn't made room for it until they remodeled.

people don't solve pro'lems... guns solve pro'lems...

And green-suiters solve problems. We've got a bunch of PhD'd civilians in charge and it's just, well, bad.

I’m sticking with the terrorist story. I don’t think I could get a decent 50k out of the other story without a lot of ~walking~ scenes. :)

Heh. I settled for a couple of glasses of wine. It’s shopping day today, so I’ll have some mixer around tonight.

Best way ever to actually write something.

You should do it with us.

That’s what NaNo is for! It really does help to do something that just requires writing quantity rather than quality. I don’t think it’s *always* the best approach, but it’s a good exercise.

Mmm...yeah. There was a thread about him yesterday.

I found him on that thread ... took one look and almost yelled. Fortunately I restrained myself ... I was at work, and they don't get NaNo.

BTW ... you were looking for a clever way to poison someone? Heard this one on NCIS night before last ... replace the victim's contact lens solution with the poison.

I may use that one myself in the future ...

Ow...that’s a painful way to do it, I’d think!

I’m mostly trying to figure out a way to poison someone through food using something that might be available to a pharmacist - i.e. a pill that dissolves in liquid and doesn’t have much of a taste. I’m not completely satisfied with any of the things I’ve found. Especially since I don’t want something that builds up over time — I need it to happen quickly.

Embrace imperfection. It’s a must for NaNo purposes. It’s all part of the experience!

Well I oughta do REAL well then, cause I know how to be imperfect!! LOL
