Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Welcome Back Hair - Hope the trip home went well. We sure enjoyed the postings on the Saddle Thread. OB & LSA

I think.
Go nuts along with the rest of us?
Good times...
I’ve had an exhausting and frustrating day.
I’m gainfully employed...that’s done, anyway. I found out that a hospital here would let me work regular nursing duties if I go through their orientation. But then I found out that I can only work one on one hospice and no regular hospital staffing (like this would be) if I don’t have proof of my vaccinations.
So I called my old doctor from my childhood...he’s actually still in practice at the same clinic and asked if he had my records. They said no, they destroyed them when I turned 25. Almost 20 years ago.
So I had to get new vaccinations. I got my MMR today and will get a chickenpox vaccine tomorrow. I could get titers drawn, but that would take longer and I’m just gonna get the shots and be done with it.
Is it worth it? One on one hospice pays $18 an hour...hospital staffing pays $28 an hour. I think it’s worth it. But ugh, I’ve been dealing with this all day.
Gads. No fun. You’ll probably decide it’s worth it though. :-)
I’m starting to really hate XP Home edition. Can’t seem to get rid of it. Have booted on a XP Pro CD, killed partition, made new partition, and reformatted drive. XP Pro CD Still installs XP Home.
I think I’m going to shoot it.
Oh, there are lots of old cars and stuff. Could use one to pump water ...
Good idea, Talon! Thanks!
Naked people have their uses, y'know!
Although, I confess, I'm having trouble putting a naked person in my prologue. Cam is rescuing a kidnapping victim ... maybe the victim is naked?
Izzit November yet?
I had the sudden idea today to start putting scene sketches down on index cards. I’m having an exceptionally hard time figuring out just how to tell this story, as far as order goes. Chronologically I understand it, but as a story to be told, without revealing everything at once...it’s a nightmare. I’ve been writing up sequences of chapters / scenes and then scratching them out over and over.
With the index cards, I divide everything up into chunks in a tidy way and I can try rearranging events to see what makes logical sense from a storytelling point of view; plus I can write scenes in whatever order I please — just pick one and write — and then rearrange ‘em later, once I decide on a final sequence.
Well...see...there’s good naked and bad naked...
Naked men falling from the sky and ending up in my garden for all the world to see are just...bad naked, in my mind. ;-)
And I get to travel to the model for my little town for Thanksgiving! I can double-check details! <laughing!>
<snicker> You're gonna write 50,000 words in 30 days, that's what you're gonna do!
Do you have a plot?
Cuz you is a glutton for punishment?
How's the homeschooling going? This is our last year; Joseph graduates (at least he's supposed to) in June.;o) We're hoping we'll be back down in MS before he starts college in September, because he wants to live at home and go to the Univ. of Sou. Miss on the Gulf Coast.
Glad you had a fun trip, and more importantly, made it home safely!
An interesting subplot has emerged ... the usefulness of old things and old people.
I need a better title .... Heart's Desire isn't cuttin' it ...
Well...yeah, actually.
I never professed to be logical...
I have no title. Everything I came up with was either already used two or three times or else so unbelievably cheesy it was unsuitable even for NaNo.
There just aren’t a lot of titles involving second chances or good things coming out of bad that don’t tend to get wayyyyy cheesy.
Sorta kinda - I have a MC, a shadowy Romantic Interest, and a vague idea of what I want to happen, but there are a few settings and occupations that I know nothing about so Im a little bit nervous...
The homeschooling is going GREAT...its had its ups and downs already, but we found a homeschool store in a nearby town that offers some of the classes I was wanting to do this year, and she gets to be with other girls her age...in fact we are taking them to the Tx RenFest tomorrow - they are having their School Day there.
Oh thats FAB, Suzi, about Joseph! I cant believe time goes by so quickly!! We are thinking of moving to Brenham or somewhere nearby by the time Erin graduates, because she wants to go to Tx A&M for their veterinary school there...
