I’m so sorry cj....
Becky
Aw cj, I’m SO sorry to hear that. Deuce was a really special little guy who held such promise. After all you and he had been through with that tumor in this throat, this just seems so doubly unfair. I know you’re just devastated because I know I would be if it was one of mine. I’ll pray for God to ease your pain and to send an extra bit of brightness into your life in some way to help you along. I’m glad you have such good friends and family around you to help you get through this.
Thanks so much for your kind thoughts and words. You’re a wonderful bunch. I’ll be here as a lurker.
I can only hope Deuce is rubbing his head all over Whitey’s butt as he loved to do in the field, while the both of them are turned out in God’s great pasture.
I’ll lurk and I’ll be back eventually. This is the first time I’ve been horseless in 25 years. I don’t think it will stay that way long because there’s a giant hole that needs filled. No one will ever take his place but they’re all special in their own way.
I’m glad to hear that you’re not going to remain horseless. I think it’s a wonderful reflection on all the horses that have been in your life that they’ve been such positive influences that you don’t want to be without one. I wouldn’t either. I just can’t imagine living life without a horse to share it with me.
I’m so very sorry for your loss. Deuce is in good company - that’s not much comfort to you right now I know. In your heart you will see him there, when you least expect it.
Then on top of that, she comes with Baggage! The owner didn't even know she had whelped. These pups are only a week or so old. There were three dead pups in with her.
We will try to find them new homes when the pups are bigger. The mother is a nice dog, but had been an outside dog. We have them in a stall in the barn with the rabbits to keep warm. They also have a neutered, declawed cat in the house, which they put out food for.
Oh dear. Sorry about the one that couldn’t be saved. It’d break my heart to come upon that scene. I hope they find good homes. She might make a better indoor dog than you think... They aren’t that hard to potty train at any age ;~)
I am so, so sorry for your loss.
Wow, I check in to see what’s going on and there’s a ton of bad news. Those poor animals. At least y’all found them before they were all dead.
How is Lori?
I haven’t had an update yet so I don’t know. I sure do appreciate all the prayers though. I’m on a phone tree for getting information and I just keep hoping no news is good news.
Cjshapi, how awful. I am so, so sorry. You’ll be in my prayers.
Aww puppies:’) I almost posted “send Peaches to me”. I’m glad they found you. Do you still have the one from the last time. The two that showed up?
I’m so sorry to hear that.
LOL
Did they do the transplant?
No, no transplant. They said when they got in that there was too much scar tissue. I keep hoping that some doctor will decide to do some kind of experimental surgery, stem cells, something. It just breaks my heart after how long she has waited and how hard she has fought. And it’s frustrating for me, having to wait so long for updates. How’s that for selfish?
Not selfish at all. I’m assuming they removed the scar tissue? They are going to have to get her over the infection first but they may have a plan B:’)
