This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

It's very cold here, looks like Hair's pictures, lots of frost.
Hair's pictures reminded me that I did take a short, not that exciting video the last day I fed at Debbie's.

LOL...there are no babies in that video, the mare in the foreground is the mother of the baby I posted pictures of last summer.
The horse running right next to her...I’m not sure what he is.
The one in the background, is a great big ole saddlebred. Most I’ve ever seen him move around:)
The mare...she’s the one I was really hoping to catch like she was acting the other day...She was all bowed up, trotting, like you like to see them, lots of air time. But...didn’t happen.

I meant baby (singular) (wish there was an edit function here!) I thought the mare in the foreground was juvenile... she’s just so little compared to the chestnut next to her, I thought she was juvenile.

She is small compared to the others. Really pretty, and was really showing off the other day. Wish you could have seen her.

It’s called Family Day here in Nevada but I like the idea of Robert E Lee’s birthday as a holiday :)
Very cold here and ice again. 24 degrees last night with a high expected of 49 today. At least the sun is shining so it looks warmer. If I stay inside all day, I can pretend it’s not winter :)
We’re having about the same weather... another clear and cold night, 22 right now, supposed to be sunny all day :~)

My son (17) stayed behind by himself last night so he could go to the Footlocker Cross Country championships today with the rest of his team. About 10 p.m. he called us and said there were two strange men inside the back yard fence with flashlights. He wanted the combination to the gun safe (!?!?!?!?!) Hubby said, "No sale ! Call 911 !"
So he did, the cops came and scared 'em off, he spent the night with our next door neighbor, locked everything up and caught a ride with his coach this morning.
Sure hope our house is still there when we get back!

I was struck by how all the horses seem the same height. Bay must be in a hole and the pony is up on a higher spot, I think :~)
Poor kid. (another of my arguements for queenslands instead of labs) Although Blue will growl at someone if he’s in the truck and they walk up. My queenslands would eat up anyone walking in their yard in the middle of the night. Blue and Bell would bark but they bark at everything and anything. I still can’t figure out what Blue barks at in the middle of the night. I know it’s not a coyote because Buddy and Zuni don’t bark.
Anyway, I’m relieved to hear he’s okay. House can be replaced, kid can’t. The good thing is if someone targeted your house knowing you were gone, they got a surprise :)
I like them both but you’ve got to go with the hats, it’s great. And I love Cartman’s hat there too.
