This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
LOL:)

That's BladeRider's son Billy, and he's available I think. ;o)
Good Deal! Isn’t it nice to know that something you’ve said has helped someone.
LOL...I’m just honored that I was even mentioned in the same thread as WB :D
Becky
You’re going to end up with a fan club of your own. :~D
... And I will be around to give you a hard time about it. :~D
I have a few questions about Hope:)
Does she lunge? If so does she do it gaiting, or trotting?
I’m wondering because I don’t really know if at a competition, they HAVE to trot, or if gaiting will be OK....I’m hoping they can gait. (course I’m really jumping the gun here:)
And something funny and interesting I was telling Mack, that even brought a smile to his face is, if I get her, once she is really working well for me, gaiting....wouldn’t it be fun/funny to teach her barrels, take her to competition and gait around them, and even maybe place:) As fast as they go, I’ll bet she could:) Might start a new trend...LOL.
Becky
LOL...gawd!! Speaking about myself...is all I can think is it doesn’t take much to impress some people:)
Becky
I sent you a FRMail BTW... :~)
Answered.

Well, it is a GORGEOUS day out here today, I’m going to go outside... take horse blankets off and let them run naked in the sun... I could use some time in the sun myself. :~)
Then clean stalls.
~chuckling~
~throws popcorn at Frog~
But I’ve never had a thread started begging me to write a book:(
LOL
Becky
Careful, or I might start one :~D
NOW I’m going outside!
Aww...come on, we’re having fun...it’s been so slow around here lately:)
But alas, I need to get up and do something too.
Becky
I’ll take pictures :~)
Well, I’ve never really lunged Hope to speak of (or any of mine for that matter), but when I did, she trotted, and she trots when she’s just out running around the pasture. The only time I’ve ever really seen her gait is under saddle, so you really shouldn’t have a problem with the judges at all.
And as far as running barrels and placing... I kinda doubt it. It may feel fast when you’re out on a trail, but it’s nothing when compared to the wide-ass-open gallop that I’ve seen most of those people do them at. It might be good for novelty value though. Now I have heard of people doing Team Penning on gaited horses. Never seen it, but I’ve heard of it.
