This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I want a copy, but I’ll run down to Drug Warehouse and get it.
Hey, I made that soup and it was a huge hit with Steve and Joshua (Matthew doesn’t eat anything with veggies in it.) I believe Steve ate three big bowls of it. I just browned the beef, warmed up the soups, beans and rotel in the microwave, then dumped it all in the crockpot before leaving for Matthew’s Latin class. Came home and Steve was piled up in the recliner eating it. Said “This is great chili!” Joshua said “That stew smells great!”
I kept telling them it was soup...
“Which article is it that the Sonny guy was in? I wonder if its the same guy who was such a big-head trainer-guy over on the horse.com forum that Tuffydoodle liked to humiliate.”
Gross, it is that idiot! Legend in his own mind is exactly right.
Mina’s training is coming right along. I’ve got her saddled, walking and trotting under tack with no bucking or crow hopping. I started her with a child’s english saddle since my western saddle is so big and heavy and makes too much noise when going any faster than a walk. When she’s comfortable at all three gaits with the kid’s saddle, I’ll switch her to my western saddle.
You’re selling Harley??? Why?
Spooky pics there, Tuffy!
Nice to hear from you Tuscaloosa, keep us posted on the barn raising.
I rented a log splitter yesterday and SIL and I split wood. Now to stack it all.
You going to buy yourself one of those racking horses now, Becky?
I rode Frog's Hope while they were here. I think I want her:)
Becky
Nice Halloween pictures:)
Becky
Is Hope for sale or are you just going to start looking for a gaited horse?
Wow, you’ve really gone all out there for Halloween!
And to think, we usually just hide inside a locked gate and hope no kids come.
Mina looks gorgeous, as usual!
Becky’s thinkin’ of changing religions ;~)
Frog has said she would sell me Hope.
Becky
Shows how open minded I am:)
Becky
I suspected as us all along ;~)
It’s tempting... I understand!
I need something to motivate me...my interest has waned some, and I think it’s because I’ve just never bonded with Harley...I’ve tried...he’s a great great horse, probably the best one I’ve ever owned, but I can take him or leave him.
I was even thinking before you all came, that once the visit was over, I’d sell him and just do without a horse for awhile, and see how that felt. I did try to sell him to the lady at the smoke shop, before Frog got here, remember?
Becky
Whatever that is supposed to say...
Where’s that edit button.....
Where’s my coffee?
I can see how it would be exciting to try something new and very different. And I think you would enjoy competing with Hope in CTRs...
You’d only have an advantage the first year... The next year, everyone would have them. ;~)
And yes you did try to sell Harley before the lady even got there. He’s a great horse. If you go through with this, I hope you find him a great home.
I was wondering:)
Becky
~sip~ ;~)
Julia is coming to ride this morning around 10:30. I think I’m going to take Rocky. She wants it to be a short ride because she has an appointment this afternoon she has to get to.
I think that slip and fall that Harley took the other day did leave him a bit sore. he seemed a bit off yesterday, nothing bad, but I cut the ride short, and want to give him a few days, then I’ll try again. That fall is the only thing I can think of that would have cause him to be off. His head bobs just a bit when lunging to the left, I lunged him when I got back from the trails to see him move. He has no swelling, cuts, etc. anywhere so I’m thinking something may just be sore. Hopefully a few days rest will fix him up, and no one will come right now to see him:\
Becky
Mina is beautiful.
Well, I'll be darned :)
