This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Oh - OK now I remember who she is. She’s the one who rode Quest!
Yes, that’s who she is. She is coming over riding Tuffy several times a week when she can and just in rding him is having a ball teaching him things like opening a gate and going through and closing it, and stepping over poles on the ground. She really does love that horse.
Well good. And he needs to be campaigned. Sounds like a good plan.
Them glittery show outfits and entry fees will be expensive ;~)
Boy do they :) I figure it will help her confidence though if she’s dressed with the best. Red and or black I think.
I sure liked him in the red and beige. :~)
That did look good on him. It matches his coloring really well.
Can you sew?
I might have to start again, looking at the prices of show clothes, but I sure won't like it :)
Today is the celebration of Nevada becoming a state. Every year the parade has a theme and this year it's aliens and Area 51. I'm hoping the paper puts some pictures up on line of the floats. The celebration used to be kind of wild but all the Californians, etc moving in have tamed it down quite a bit. They didn't appreciate the year the houses had a float (prostitution IS legal here) Also complained about the floats throwing candy, beads, coupons, etc to the crowds. Always lots of horses - Sheriff's Posse, Pony Express, Search and Rescue and the different ranches. And the bands and the politicians. The Library had a float several years ago. Our new director is not into fun as much as our previous director was.
You have your own Area 51!
WE do? Where? What do you mean?
Good morning everyone... we’re up and have been fed. Have a few projects in the works for the day. Gravel, deep for footing on the approach into the lean-to. I’ve scraped all the mud off, want to put down a thick bed of gravel to keep that from getting so mucky.
Then clean out the gutters. :~)
Talk to you all later/throughout the day!
Well, your back 40 surely qualifies as mysterious.
Good morning.
NOthing special going on here today, except catching up on book work...I’m headed to town in a bit to work with Mack. Hopefully next week things will be more “normal”:)

Good morning - have a great day.
Well how do you know that it’s not aliens instead of ghosts in your barn? :’)
Ah - I see what you mean...
You think I can sell tickets to tour the mystery garbage cans? :~)
Build it and they will come.
Here's the main approach they use to get in and out of the barn, that always gets so muddy. I've been digging it out, and while I've got it down to something fairly firm and it's pretty dry we graveled it. Hopefully this will be better when they get it compacted down a bit. We dumped an entire yard of gravel on it.
Cyn gets involved...
All done!
I think it's going to be good. Where the pony is standing is natural rock hardpan, and they can avoid mud if they walk the drainage out, which they usually do ;~) I wish I could scrape the rest of that muck off to the left out of there... there's good hard rock underneath like a patio if I could take the top layer off.
Homer and Barkley not getting involved ;~)
