‘The 63-year-old Rolling Stone, a former heroin addict and longtime party animal, suffered a head injury when he slipped out of a palm tree in April 2006.’
The irony being of course if not for cocaine, he wouldn’t have been in the tree in the first place.....(eyes rolling)

“I was reading an interview with Keith Richards in a magazine and in the interview Keith Richards intimated that kids should not do drugs. Keith Richards! Says that kids should not do drugs! Keith, we can’t do any more drugs because you already did them all, alright! There’s none left! We have to wait ‘till you die and smoke your ashes!” - Dennis Leary

With all the drugs he’s taken, he’ll never need embalming fluid when he passes.... and I wouldn’t be surprised to learn he’s already tried it in some form.

I look at people like Richards and I shake my head, I can’t even take legal doctor prescribed medication, I would be long dead if I had ever taken any of the junk he has taken.

"Not that I want to brag about it, but I mean, Ive had about three doctors who told me, If you carry on like this, you will be dead in six months. I went to their funerals."George Burns said something similar about various doctors who told him to stop smoking cigars.

If everybody was given the choice between living to be 65 as a rock star or getting to live to be 90 as a monk, I don't think we'd have a lot of monks.

Keith is just further proof that you don't go until it is your time.
Good genes probably help too. His mother died this year at 91. Although if he lives another 27 years, I will start believing what they say in Wayne's World 2. That Keith cannot be killed with conventional weapons.

I saw a recent article where he clarified that he didn’t mix his dead father’s ashes with cocaine and snort them; he just snorted his father’s ashes.
