I mentioned on the weekend thread that French President Nicolas Sarkozy was visiting the US in New Hampshire instead of European resorts. Apparently, he got into a brouhaha with reporters yesterday while boating. He jumped into the AP reporter's boat and let him have it verbally in French. I guess he takes vacationing with his family very seriously and when he says I want to be alone, he means it. ;-)
Here we go!
Wow - Monday already.....
I was just on the Townhall site and the AARP has a video commercial for left wing agenda items.
Good morning.
Why am I not surprised? AARP...Grr! I send all their mail back in their pre addressed envelopes.
Ugly situation here.
When we moved into the new house, we asked about a fence (pet containing)....they said “..sure—the home owners association is ‘loose’ and they haven’t turned anything down yet.”
Sure enough — one of the board members stopped by on day one - I told him I was looking at both a wooden fence and the more expensive (maintenance free) vinyl fence....and he said - when you decide - call one of the board members and they’ll approve it.
Anyway, they have a procedure and a form - requiring submittal of a plan and pictures of the fence....and I was at my office filling all of this out when my wife comes in and says “they approved the fence - a board member walked up to her while she was pulling weeds and approved the fence.
So I stop filling out forms and went to Home Depot....bought a fence and a month after it’s installed - I get a certified letter.....the fence is not approved.
>>Why am I not surprised?
AARP on Townhall???? THat’s like NRA at Dem Underground
Oh no! That’s awful. Now what?
I know.
By not being surprised I meant AARP pushing liberal beliefs.
Good Morning. I’m struggling to wake up this morning.
The Raven, what is the ‘next step’ with the fence. Have you spoken to the person who gave your wife the “Approval”, yet?
Do you know what modifications need to be made to the fence?
I continue to get flyers to join AARP. They go right into the garbage.
Morning IG
Good Morning. Do you have fog this morning?
Good for him. There is no reason to intrude in a family vacation.
I got in last night from a wonderful (quick) weekend trip. One of the highlights was the lunch I had with Jtill. It was great! We talked from the moment we saw each other ~ which was instant recognition although we had never met before~ until they practically closed the place on us! It was so good. We all must meet sometime and, frankly, we must be sure to invite our Wake FRiends as well.
Other events of the weekend was shopping with the mother of a good friend. She is suffering with Alzheimers and doesn’t remember seeing me on the Fourth of July. She also doesn’t get to shop for girl stuff very often. We found some upholstery fabric for my dining room chairs.
Then, that evening we all went out to Ruth’s Chris Steak House. The dining pleasure was only exceeded by the company.
Sunday was spent at my home church. It was great seeing friends again. And funny, too, as many didn’t recognize me with my new hair style. They all said the voice was familiar and the smile, but the hair fooled them.
It was an uneventful trip home and that is always good. FWIW, I hate traveling. I like getting there, but the sitting for long periods of time, yuck.
I’m thinking of you and praying for you as you go through today’s. I’m praying that you’ll find comfort and closure in the ceremonies and friends of Laura who speak with you.
Can't tell... it's too foggy. ; )
Actually it's cloudy, but no fog to speak of from where I am sitting.
Ruth's Steak House?!!!
I love that place. The best steaks I've ever eaten. I've been to one in Scottsdale, and in Minneapolis.
I wish they would build one in Wisconsin!
It would be so mucb fun to get together with Freepers that we've known.
Mozie and I both were in the same restaurant, and church, and never knew it until we connected the dots later on.
The steak was good. This particular restaurant is a relatively new one in Huntsville, AL. It has been a long time coming. Huntsville is an economic secret. There are a lot of rocket scientists in the area and they are paid comparable salaries... well at least they make more than a Wal-Mart greeter.
After church yesterday we went over to NO to visit the lady who raised Terry and that city is like it was the last time we were over there. It is criminal the way things are going over there and yes, politicians are stealing money left and right.
TJ had a blast there, he is getting better, kinda like double 2 year old, always active, VERY active and GD turned 12 and getting at that age that all kind of changes are going on in her and she doesn’t take too kindly to him sometimes. Of course none of you never that that problem with your young female type girls, huh?
It is so depressing every time we go over there, it is criminal the way they do nothing and blame it on the President. Not like that here in MS, rolled our sleeves up and got with the program and giant strides are being made plus we have a Gov who does not sit on his hands.
Clark Gobble sure is getting big, as I go out to feed the chickens and him each night he walks along beside me and pecks the corn out of the bucket, he has let me start rubbing him and does not run anymore. SIL keeps saying ‘here is our thanksgiving dinner this year’..
OK, I will confess, I ran into one of the post of the fence we have and broke it with the tractor, that is three I have killed now, SIL just shakes his head.
OK, got to get my day started, will talk to ‘youse guys’ later.

Isn't that what posts are for? ;-)
