Sadly , bringing it to today's thread... ,

"Just got back from EAA's Airventure in Oshkosh. Heart wrenching day.

We watched a simulated air race between a corsair, Bearcat, F-7, and 2 Mustangs. They finished the race and the planes came in to land. As the first Mustang came in on final he bouced and the plane flipped onto its back, exploding on impact. The second mustang, coming in right behind him, swerved, hit the brakes, and sent his nose into the ground. The pilot of the second Mustang got out to assist, but there was nothing he could do.

We've lost a tremendous pilot today.

Most of the Air show was cancelled at that point.

We take so much for granted, and never get over the fact that things can end so quickly.

Please say a prayer for the family of the pilot who died this afternoon. (His name is being withheld so they can notify the families.)

Thanks!

Jay

I’m so sorry to read what happened at Oshkosh. We have such an awesome highly skilled military that it’s hard to remember that accidents still do happen. Prayers lifted.

Good morning folks and thanks for the thread lysie. Mr. Prairie and I are almost to wrap up the final revisions and cuts on the CD, so we’re off the the studio later this morning. Our friends did their final editing and departed for home yesterday. It’s been tremendous fun and I hope the final product, although not professional by any means, will be everything we hoped for.

We will be traveling this afternoon and tomorrow head into the Rockies for some much needed rest and sight-seeing. We should be in and travel through some of God’s most beautiful creation.

An old classmate from grade school contacted me via that Classmates.com site yesterday. I was surprised to find that they live reasonably close to this place we’ve been all week. It was a pleasant surprise to get the email and perhaps we’ll keep in touch.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Good morning! Thanks lysie. I hope you have something going on this weekend. How's your neck?

We're still under the threat of storms, I think. Last evening our post=supper walk was delayed awhile because of the rumble of thunder off to the west...

prairie, continue to enjoy your adventures, and thanks for sharing them.

Thanks for the links, Molly, and thanks for the start, lysie! We have company, so I won’t be able to read much today unless I can snitch a few moments here or there.

Have a great day!

Sheesh, I will try one more time, every time I post it jumps off line.

GOOD A.M. ALL, FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA!!!!

I am SO sick of celebs, what they need is a good butt whipping. You can only help them so much and maybe, just maybe one help with catch and they will straighten their life out. Money does strange things to folks, huh?

AND, yes, I over did it yesterday, got way to hot once again, gotta learn I ain’t 21 anymore. I just feel I can still do it but learn fast I can’t run the 100 yard dash anymore. Gonna take it easy today, will plant two rose bushes and that is it.

All kind of folks coming over for Allie’s birthday party tomorrow and have been given instructions to clean my Shack in the back. Oh well, I said the wrong thing for sure, ‘cleaning is a woman’s job’ which means I will do the cleaning.

Clark Gobble (love it) sure is getting big, wakes me every morning gobbling at my front door for something to eat, He lets me pick him up, rub him, he is turning out to be my buddy but getting big. I purchased three when I got him but the other two went to the big turkey yard in the sky.

Just wanted to get up and about, get my day started and promise to take it easy today.

Thanks to all for being who you are and allowing me to chat with each and every one of you, Sorry we son’t live just around down the street from each other.
Toby

I’ve felt that in my bones for a while now - the Dems have spectacular propaganda.

Thanks Prairie.

Latest information on the EAA accident from Friday is that the two Mustangs collided shortly after landing.

From our vantage point it didn't look that way, but we were a bit further down the runway.

As you would imagine, the rest of the afternoon was very quiet and subdued.

Those calling the show handled the entire incident with care and integrity. It's an amazing gathering of people. Most are pilots, or familes of pilots, and they all understand all that goes into the perils of flying.

More details will be released later today.

I'll keep you posted when I can.

Good morning! Rain poured down south of me last night, but there was nary a drop here. I have high hopes...and clouds...now that some will come my way.

'Ever get a phone call and have a long silent pause before an automated voice notifies you that you "have been chosen to get..." or offering big savings on new windows, etc.? During that pause, I just hang up.

Well, I hung up the phone one time too many....my son, calling from France, tells me that I hung up on HIM!

Good Morning.

I can relate to having your child calling from France. Almost hung up on Carolyn when she called last winter.

Thanks...

Latest information that I am getting is that the two Mustangs were landing in formation, when the second one hit the first, flipping it over on its back.

The first one nosed into the ground.

NY, so sorry to hear about the accident at the air show. Prayers for the pilot and his family.

Molly, we went to grandson’s birthday last night and The Coopsters bough him a COMPLETE DRUM SET. It is already set up in his bedroom and he was playing it at 8AM.

They are FAR more patient parents than I was, that’s for sure!

Have a nice day, everyone!
