I’m way out in the stalks beyond the Frozen Tundra. I dont usually have time to watch TV but when I do it doesnt matter as there are no stations that come in well enough to watch should I wish to watch the garbage programmed between 12PM an 2AM.
We have been members of both Netflix and Blockbuster Total Access.
In my experience both have had amazing delivery times, that is to say, there are no delays upon receipt of movies and sending new ones out to the customer and I often have received and watched them before the estimated delivery date arrives (insert rare applause for postal service here).
I choose movies for my children and myself based on category, subject matter, and to a lesser degree which actors appear (I wont watch many of todays big names). I preferred the selection of offerings by Netflix and feel they have a superior customer service area.
We are presently with Blockbuster. My wife chooses movies from a wide range of genre and subject based on mood of the moment. She reads the jackets, compares actors between movies, and uses other things to determine what she wants to see. She didnt like Netflix because the movies that were on hand often just didnt match what she "felt like" when she had time to watch. Now I can order online and receive the movies I have chosen then, after watching them I give them to her and the next time she is in town she trades them in for free rentals at the store and watches those while my new ones are being delivered. It works out for us even if I cant always get a specific title Im looking for.
From a technical perspective of how the programs work and the delivery times involved I would say that you will likely be quite happy with either but as Ive mentioned above your households viewing habits and "viewing personality" might have more to do with which one you will prefer.

If you get mail by the US postal sevice, you can get Netflix. And you'll need a DVD player.
I've had it since the beginning of the year. I have the minimum plan (2 movies a month). Twice a month we have a family movie night.
Its a very good service and is quite easy to use. And its inexpensive, compared to the movie rental store in town.

Well, let’s face it - the Hollywood types are just inches away from being communists. How in the world can we expect them to understand supply and demand?
Want to make money? Satisfy a demand. Nobody is demanding crummy movies, and they can’t figure that out.
That didn’t stop them prior to the last few years from making ‘good’ movies.
If you want to get some really good and comprehensive reviews of movies, you need to go to the website kidsinmind.com . It is a great resource for finding out EXACTLY what's in any particular movie. There are overall ratings for language, sexuality and violence, but within those ratings they actually give the situations that cause them to award the ratings.
For example, we wanted to see the movie Panic Room, and we knew that it was rated R, mainly for violence and language. We went to the site and it said that the "F" word is said 59 times. Well, our youngest was 15, but we decided to watch it anyway, and reiterated to him that even though we may watch a movie where they use that word, WE don't use it at home, and we'd better never hear him saying it. Point taken, and when we started watching the movie, unbeknownst to us, he was keeping track of how many times the word was said. When it was over, he said, that site was wrong, they said the word 65 times! LOL! It was a good movie, bad language notwithstanding.

I also visit www.christianspotlight.com for reviews. People give their opinions about the movie and I generally value the “middle of the road” reviews the most. For example, in some of the negative reviews (most were quite positive) of the recent Harry Potter film, the reviewers were all caught up in the “witchcraft is evil” angle rather than realizing it was a fantasy.
One of the best movies I found from that site was “Because of Winn-Dixie”, which has become one of our “family” favorites.
Another movie with more mature themes is The Green Mile. We had it here for several months before I finally steeled myself to see it. Don't know what I was expecting; why I was delaying seeing it, but it was an awesome movie!
Just what I want to see, another SoddomWood movie making fun of Christians and Noah. Glad I missed this disaster.

I didn’t think either one portrayed him as I see him via the various historical works on the man, and his life.
That said, I’m glad those two movies were made.
Evan Almighty doesn’t make fun of Christians or Noah. In fact it’s the opposite. I’m glad I saw this movie even though there is some politically correct stuff in there. I think it’s a good comedy most would like if they gave it a chance.
I had to laugh listening to Sheen do Robert E. Lee. It’s like he watched Ken Burns’ series “The Civil War”, and was copying Shelby Foote. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, because I think Shelby Foote sounded like the perfect Southern gentlemen!

True enough.
I’ll always regret I never had the opportunity to meet Mr Foote. Having lived in Virginia while in the service, I grew very fond of a Southern accent, the ‘beat’ and tone.
Especially in a Southern woman. If your from Southern Alabama and female, just ‘hello’ could cause me to rob a bank for you....(chuckle)

Me too. Its one of the few things you will every see me thank Ted Turner for. I have only read one of the Shaaras books, that being Were have the Soldiers gone. Bought Gods and Generals, but have not gotten around to reading it.

Shaara’s father wrote ‘Killer Angels’...in the early 1970’s. Its a great read.
And if you like it, you’ll love Gingrich’s alternative history trilogy, ‘Gettysburg’.
