Everyone email The Connecticut Network to Abolish the Death Penalty.
http://www.nodp.org/cnadp/
If they dont think these 2 killers deserve the death penalty, they are truly sick people.

Every time I see one of these stories I think how really cheap building more prisons really is. Career criminals should spend the rest of their lives in prison.

Prayers for this guy. May the grace and presence of God be with him.

And swift judgment and justice for the perps.

I really feel for William Petit. Since he is a doctor, I'm guessing he's helped a lot of people in his career. I've read comments from people who said he was their doctor and they really liked him. Now he's lost his wife and family and the home and life they built together.

There is nothing of value the two scum who did this can ever do for society other than donate themselves for medical research. Otherwise, these two evil bastards should be killed. I don't see how even Jesus could forgive them. Some people just need killing...

Everybody should be sure to combat the idea that “there is some good in everyone.” Some people are just plain bad. And you can’t tell who they are.

Once upon a time Connecticut was a prosperous state with a reputation for public safety. Over the last 30 years the state has been allowed to go down the tubes through exactly the sort of lax law enforcement on display here. It will be interesting to see if this episode is enough to shock the Constitution State back to its senses.

“Two recent parolees who apparently met at a halfway house for nonviolent offenders...”

Sounds like these halfway houses are becoming a breeding grounds for criminals. We need to shut them down and put the residents in prisons.

Two recent parolees who apparently met at a halfway house for nonviolent offenders were arraigned Tuesday

Nonviolent offenders?

Oh wait, he’s dead.

He would’ve loved these guys.

I can’t even fathom the terror this family endured.

When I read how many convictions these guys had I had to shake my head. What does it take to put someone behind bars for good? It’s obvious they were not going to be rehabilitated. Maybe if parole boards and judges were held accountable for crimes like these they might think twice before releasing the scum.

Somewhere there is a judge and parole board complicit in the crime...

On Monday, investigators had not determined what brought the men to the Petits' home.

This is still the key question - as home invasions are hardly ever random events. When I was growing up we had an incredible incidence of home burglaries in our neighborhood - in nearly every case it was because of teenage children of the victims volunteering information about the family possessions and wealth to their frends - some of whom were the perpetrators, and others simply passed the details along to the local criminal element in return for drugs or cash...or simply in an attempt to fit in with the "cool" crowd.

So the big question is how did Komisarjevsky find out about and choose to target this family in particular?

They exemplified the best in public service," Milone said. "Without their great work this could have been a far worse tragedy."

Not to take anything away from the police and firemen sho responded to the scene of this nightnare but how in the world could it have been worse? The CT justice system failed to protect society from these two rabid animals and let them live at taxpayer expense in half way houses and rehab centers while they plotted their crimes. Three innocent victims were brutally murdered and a father was beaten and subdued while his daughters were raped and then murdered. Just how in the hell could this be any worse?!?!

How does Connecticut (that's where this happened, right?) stand on the exercise of the right to keep and bear arms?

I don't get how anyone can read this and not want to get a pistol if s/he doesn't have one or practice more with it and resolve to keep it nearby all the time if s/he does.

I heard about this on a new cast yesterday. I was shocked—and I am not easily shocked. This reminds me of the “In Cold Blood” case (Truman Capote). The perps who did this deserve the death penalty ASAP—I don’t care how awful their childhoods were.

I feel so sorry for the Doctor. The guy works hard all his life to build a good life, succeeds, then loses it all in an instant. Truly tragic!

Let me get this straight, the wife had police alerted while at the bank as the criminal waited outside? Why didnt she scream loud and long after she got away from him? Why did she have time to withdraw money, and return home and the criminals do their foul deeds and the police never got to the scene until too late? How fast were they “racing?”

It sounds like they were burned alive, rather than dieing from smoke inhalation.
