I have similar problem on a new PC I built, but only once Vista was installed. The wireless adapter works fine, but the Vista supported NIC downloads files so slow it gives up. Web surfing is fine with the NIC.

I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.

This sounds like you may have a firewall setting...some routers have different firewall settings for ethernet and wireless...

Try disabling your firewall on wireless, or compare the settings for ethernet and wireless....
