LAS VEGAS - A woman has won a court fight to keep the placenta after her daughter’s birth. She had planned to grind it up and ingest it as a way to fight postpartum depression, but now plans to bury it.
Clark County District Court Judge Susan Johnson granted a preliminary injunction Tuesday, ordering Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in southern Nevada to return the placenta to Anne Swanson.

It's been a long time since my college days, but unless things have changed since then, I have my doubts that the placenta will contain high levels of hormones. It makes them but most of what is produced doesn't stay there.
Ok, I’m sorry but some people are just weird.
The digestve system would just destroy most of the hormones anyway.

It’s almost too weird to believe, but some of the more extremist vegans consider placenta a delicacy.
Placenta is the only type of animal protein they can eat, since it isn’t acquired by killing a living thing.
Of course, if that’s the criteria, you kind of wonder why they can’t eat roadkill.
