i think what we as evangelical, biblical, conservative, committed-to-the-bible-as-divine-revelation believers need to remember is that sexuality is complicated.
those who are heterosexual have their complexities—not all that easy to deal with.
those who are homosexual may have chosen that ‘along life’s way’ or they may have been born with that tendency due to ‘the fall.’
in any case, all may be saved by christ’s grace.
those who are unmarried heterosexual are expected to remain celibate.
those who are homosexual are expected to remain celibate.
the only active sexual activity the bible permits morally is that within the bond of marriage.
Although I find it distasteful, if a man somehow feels compelled to wear pink sweaters, work as an interior decorator and say that every good thing is "Fabulous!", I can't condemn that behavior. It is not sinful.
However, if that man engages in sex with other men, is an activist for homosexual marriage, or argues that there's nothing wrong with homosexual acts, then we have a problem. These are sins. They are bad choices. Human Nature is flawed, and we all have our struggles. A man (or woman) who gives in to homosexual urges is making a mistake and both Church and State ought to completely condemn the commission of these mistakes.
Actually no, it isn’t complicated at all. We, or rather some of us MAKE it complicated. As for homosexuals, it is common sense, and well known, that man was granted free will. The Lord does not drag us kicking and screaming to His will, that is up to us. We can indulge in any number of perversions as human beings with free will. Just because we may envision a fantasy, does not mean we should act on it. THAT is all homosexuality is about.
