I thought about doing this at 11:30 last night. Why do people think it is ok to set off explosives in a residential neighborhood in the middle of the night???

Well, it was the Fourth. We were blowing stuff up last night until around 10 PM and I was hearing booms until around midnight.

More than that, fireworks are illegal to possess in Cuyahoga county. Obviously this guy’s reaction was WAY over the top, but I share his frustration with these type of people.

I live in a city where fireworks are banned. Yet last night they were going off all around until well past 11p.m.
Tried calling the police a couple of years ago - no response.
So much for Law & Order!

On a weeknight especially. We have a lovely family of white trash living across the road from us. Mom is useless. No dad. Teenaged kids run amok at all hours, often leaving beer bottles and other assorted trash on other peoples' lawns. Not to mention that someone in that house has a penchant for destroying other peoples' mail boxes. In any case, I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to allow my good friend Mr. Mossberg handle the situation. Thank God I have a very long fuse.

There was a big show at 12:30AM where I am, even though it was calm the couple of hours before that. It’s not good for people who actually have to get up early and be productive the next day.

Why do people think it is ok to set off explosives in a residential neighborhood in the middle of the night??? Maybe because they are more concerned with enjoying the holiday than not annoying their dorky, uptight neighbors.

It's an independence day tradition, and it happens all over the country. I can put up with it for one night, it's not a big deal.
Did you really think about shooting someone over some fireworks?

I hate picking up the debris off my roof every year, wondering when they are going to set a house on fire. I guess we have to wait till our homes go up in smoke before we can justify shooting people.

Well it was july 4, after all. And couldn’t we re-phrase your question thusly “why do people think it is OK to murder 3 people in cold blood for the crime of annoying you?”
In this equation, who really was the most inconsiderate person? The folks with the fireworks, or the guy with the loaded gun?
Do the words ‘proportionate response’ still have any meaning?

Count yourself lucky that you don't live in a neighborhood where this happens nightly and it represents something entirely different.
