In the 90s, the local TV news scene in Pittsburgh was dominated by one team: CHUCK DARLING (Kelsey Grammer, Frasier, Cheers) and KELLY CARR (Patricia Heaton, Everybody Loves Raymond). They had that elusive quality all news teams need: chemistry ... at least on-screen. Off-screen, Chuck was a bit of a self-centered womanizer, Kelly a bit of an uptight know-it-all. So when Chuck got the call to move up to a larger market, no tears were shed.
But after an embarrassing on-air tirade ended up on the Internet, Chuck found himself on the downswing career-wise. He even questioned whether his lifestyle of chasing women and living in hotels was as exciting as it used to be. So when he got the call to return to Pittsburgh, to reunite with Kelly and try to take the newscast back to No. 1, it was an offer he couldnt refuse.
Back in Pittsburgh, Chuck has a new coworker in RYAN CHURCH (Josh Gad, Mary and Joe), the overstressed news director. There are also familiar faces like MARSH McGINLEY (Fred Willard, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Best in Show), the affable, endlessly inappropriate sports anchor, and GARY CREZYZEWSKI, pronounced Kre-shoov-ski (Ty Burrell, In Good Company, Out of Practice), the perennially put-upon field reporter who always seems to get left out in the snow. But, mostly, theres Kelly, now a single mom to 10-year-old GRACIE (Laura Marano, Without a Trace). There was magic between them once. Can they find it again?
BACK TO YOU is created, written and executive-produced by Steven Levitan (Just Shoot Me!, Frasier, Wings) and Christopher Lloyd (Frasier, The Golden Girls).
A LOL (and a hiccup) on the Don Cannon reference.
My favorite moment in Pittsburgh news (and any Fox writers will have to credit PaMom if they use this) was when Sheldon Ingram (still on WTAE) was doing a live shot at the JandL Second Avenue Coke Works...several years ago. He asked the JL rep (there was some kind of problem at the plant) if 'it would affect the soft drink production.' The J&L guy just looked into the camera (couldn't answer) but you just knew the guys back at the station were laughing their a$$es off...
Pittsburgh’s skyline looks best when viewed from the 3rd base side of PNC Park. The skyline looks a lot better than the Pirates, that’s for sure.
Christopher Lloyd and the best 5 minutes in TV history:

Different guy...
There are two Christopher Lloyds: one’s the actor, and the other’s a writer of this new TV show, and who also wrote for “Frazier”.
This I gotta see !!!
I wonder how good Kelsey’s Fred Thompson imitation is? could come in handy ... :)
If you liked Arrested Development you’ll probably get a kick out of the Office.
It looks like it will be a good show. Hope so!
Both Patricia Heaton and E.D.Hill were members of the Delta Gamma Sorority at the University of Houston.
Coincidence?
I don't think so.
I’ve seen the advertisements, kind of took me by surprise. FOX doesn’t generally carry this type of sitcom.
They seem to have decent chemistry from the 30 secs I saw. Levitan and Llyod have a good record of producing decent material. I’ll probably give it a chance.
Patricia Heaton gave $1.5 million of her own money to buy 3D Ultrasound machines for clinics to discourage women from having abortions. God bless her. That is $1.5 million more than so-called “pro-life” George W. Bush has proposed to spend (in addition to not cutting a single penny from Planned Parenthood).
Talk about liberal crap. That effusively "gay" boy character turned my wife and I off of the show.
“That is $1.5 million more than so-called pro-life George W. Bush has proposed to spend (in addition to not cutting a single penny from Planned Parenthood).”
Planned Parenthood is a private non-profit organization. It is not a federal program. Also it is Congress that determines the spending budget.
PP receives millions in taxpayer dollars every year from various levels of government. When I lived in Lakeland, FL the city council gave $5k every year to the local chapter/office.
Congress does determine the spending, but the President does submit a budget request. Although Bush apparently didn't get one in his first "New President's kit", he does have the authority to use a veto pen. I think someone gave him one, but he keeps misplacing it.
Planned Parenthood received $262 million in the prior fiscal year from Federal sources to subsidize its "family planning services". And yes, Congress determines the final budget, but the White Houses proposes it, and it is negotiated between the parties. George W. Bush has not proposed to cut a single penny from the Federal dollars paid to Planned Parenthood. Nor has he proposed a single penny to be used to subsidize the purchase of 3D ultrasound machines by crisis clinics to help discourage abortions.
BWA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
That just goes to show you the state of what is passed off as modern "journalism" for the past few years.
I didn’t even have to click the link....”what does a yellow light mean”? “slow down” “wh——aaa——t do——es a-——a yellllllow liiiiiight meaaaaan?”
Am I right?!?
Hilarious stuff.
He also has cut off funds to aid overseas recipients who promote abortions.
He also has appointed a couple of apparently strict constructionists to the SCOTUS.
LOL - we're Seinfeld fans, too. However, we've seen their reruns so many times that we can recite them by heart.
We just started getting Frasier reruns when we switched from cable TV to satellite. We're also been renting "Wings", the Tim Daly (gosh, he was handsome then - too thin now)comedy from the '90s, from Netflix. Once we work through those, we'll start on Third Rock from the Sun.
Can you tell we don't watch much network TV ;-)
