I’ve posted two replies to threads via the iPhone. Whenever you enter an edit box field, the virtual keyboard pops up.
It does. Double tap an article to zoom in and read it normal size. "Pinch" using two fingers and you can size it to your liking.
It’s amazing reading all the comments from the jealous people and “naysayers” — about the iPhone. A lot of people just can’t stand an Apple success story. They did it with iPod and now they’re at it with iPhone. And..., they’re complaining about the Macs being sold like gangbusters to all the former Windows PC people. LOL...
Well..., SUCCESS does have its kinds of problems....
I’ve seen three-point type (or rather, barely have seen it) and this isn’t that. But, as far as the “magnifying glass” — the iPhone blows up whatever article you need to read so you can do that..., it has it’s own magnifying glass — your two fingers... :-)
Yep, next comes the iPods with touch screens, and then the iMacs with touch screens. Here comes the future, thanks to Apple (once again...).
Definitely, a very real and serious consideration for those who buy Apple products... :-)
Of course you can enter text. It’s the full version of the Safari web browser and I’m typing this on Safari right now [but not on an iPhone... ] :-)
COOL
How fast is it when not using wifi? Comparable to dialup? Faster?
In my area, AT&T’s EDGE service is giving me around 150kb/sec to 250kb/sec. Depends on when I test it.
Or what, about 3-4 times as fast as 56kb/sec dialup?
It isn’t quite the full version. It doesn’t support flash among other things. Still much better than the version of IE I have on my Blackjack.
There was an argument about that terminology as to whether it was a full version of the browser or not. Let me point out that if I don’t install Flash on my browser, it won’t do Flash. And I don’t have to do that. But, even so, if I don’t install Flash..., I still have a full version of Safari.
In fact, right now I have all Flash blocked and none of it will run on Safari, but I still have a full version of Safari on my laptop. I can (if I want) unblock the Flash, at times. But, I don’t do that very often...
But I don’t think that is even an option on the iPhone version of Safari. You flat out can’t use flash. That kills a lot of things on the internet, especially for many of the younger crowd that are really in the have to have it set.
For now... I will stick with my horse and buggy... them’s auto - mobile - carriages are nothin’ more than a rich mans toy.

Yeah it DOES come with a magnifying glass...
You can pinch two fingers on any spot on the screen to zoom in or out with fluid ease and no loss of orientation.
No, it’s not an option to add Flash to Safari. But, it’s still a full version of Safari, though...
Sure, of course. Flip is to horizontal mode. Looks nice. Great screen shot. Thanks.
LOL, maybe the iPhone is the Messiah? (as an Apple shareholder, I really, really hope it is).
“when iPHONE 2.0 comes out with 3G capability then it will be the be all phone it was meant to be.”
add 3G, VOIP, IM, streaming audio support, GPS, replaceable battery, memory cards, better camera, inward pointing camera for video call use etc, etc
... like the Nokia N95
