Dang. I’ll be 60 in a couple weeks.
Never heard of the guy but that is a good song.
That’s too bad. I love his guitar work. I heard that he picked with his thumb; anyone know if that’s true? Amazing if it is.
Prayers up...
"Fire on the mountain, lightening in the air, gold in them hills and it's waitin' for me there."
I vote for “Fire On The Mountian”
Rest in Peace

I learned “Cant you see?” as one of my first flattop songs. It is a great bar song if you are doing a gig. I loved them.
The Band may still well be touring.
Like “Heard it in a love song”; another song of their’s that gets played some is something like “Searching for a rainbow”; that might be the name of one of their releases.
Prayers.
Some of the fiercest country rock playing ever recorded. Highly recommended.
OT - “...him and his family”, not “...he and his family” - GRRR </bad grammar rant>
Agreed.
Ah, Marshall Tucker. I went to college in NC; that band was huge there. Reminds me of my misspent youth. RIP, George.
Marshall Tucker band played for a trade show sponsored by Briggs and Stratton last summer in Louisville. McCorkle’s voice was gone at that time ... I think he had just recovered from larnyx surgery then.
The infamous flute support that characterized their music was not the original artist at the show, but I believe a nephew of McCorkle’s that was in his early 20’s. Very talented and could play any instrument on the stage.
Incidentally, I believe it was the upper managemet of Briggs and Stratton, including a President and maybe the CEO have an oldies rock band ... they performed as well and were quite good. Did a lot of oldies, Dylan and such, and later they joined with Marshall Tucker on stage... doing Heard it in Love Song. Yeah ... it was one of the best trade shows I’ve been to.
Agreed.
Condolences to George McCorkle's family and friends.
Sad news. Love Marshall Tucker. Can’t You See is an all-time favorite, along with This Ol’ Cowboy, Fire On The Mountain, Ramblin’.
Nobody left to run with anymore. -Gregg Alman
...I always liked “this ole cowboy” I believe the name is....
