10. "I knew a Mormon who was a transvestite, child molester, drug dealer, drug addict, closet devil worshipper etc. etc. etc. so this proves that all of them are either one or all of the above"
9. "If Mormons only accepted God as I see him, I'd be ok with them."
8. "Joseph Smith was a. 1. Drug addict, 2. Cult leader, 3. Very bad person, etc. etc. etc."
7. The original message found in the Gospel can be twisted, repackaged, edited, reinterpreted a thousand times and the guilty party can still call themselves "Christian" but if a member of another religion which includes Jesus as a prophet, has a majority of its members not just reading the gospel, but PRACTICING it, and has a membership which is overwhelmingly conservative, said so-called Christian can still damn them at will.
6. "I don't care if the US armed forces, war efforts past and present, and therefore the US population has benefited from the genius of an arms designer who was the product of a Mormon, polygamous relationship, i.e. John Moses Browning, Americans should never, be in possession of a material object, idea, or political belief which had anything to do with one of "those people""
5. "You Mormons should lighten up." (All I'm doing is tearing apart your faith and values system because I have this compelling need to pick a religious fight and prove that Radical Islam is not the only religion which has militant factions)
4. "The Mormon Religion has no secrets and no member has ever unfairly benefited from a transaction with another member."
3. "No divine revelation within the LDS church has ever coincided with an unresolved conflict between church doctrine and US law."
2. "I won't support this or that candidate, politician, public figure because he's a Mormon, but don't you DARE call me a bigot."
1. "Mormonism is a Cult."
Not a single mention of the wearing of magical underpants????
Why are they wearing magical underpants
“I think I’ve seen more “Mormons are being victimized” threads than I’ve seen individual comments bashing Mormons, just fyi.”
I would say that I have to agree 100%.
To be fair, this is not a Mormon (LDS Church) practice.
These are “fundamentalist Mormons,” and bear roughly the same relationship to the LDS Church as David Koresh did to evangelical Protestants.
They are very bad people.
I won’t support this or that candidate, politician, public figure because he’s a Mormon, and yes, Mormonism is a Cult.
Mormon ideology aside, I think the physical similarity is amazing.
Ol' Brigham prolly couldn't complete a pass for sh*t, tho.

That, indeed is the question!
The Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) is often misunderstood . . Some accuse the Church of not believing in Christ and, therefore, not being a Christian religion . . This post helps to clarify such misconceptions
· Baptism: .
Early Christian churches, practiced baptism of youth (not infants) by immersion by the father of the family. The local congregation had a lay ministry. An early Christian Church has been re-constructed at the Israel Museum, and the above can be verified. http://www.imj.org.il/eng/exhibitions/2000/christianity/ancientchurch/structure/index.html
The Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) continues baptism and a lay ministry as taught by Jesus Apostles. . Early Christians were persecuted for keeping their practices sacred, and not allowing non-Christians to witness them
· The Trinity: .
A literal reading of the New Testament points to God and Jesus Christ , His Son , being separate , divine beings , united in purpose. . To whom was Jesus praying in Gethsemane, and Who was speaking to Him and his apostles on the Mount of Transfiguration?
The Nicene Creeds definition of the Trinity was influenced by scribes translating the Greek manuscripts into Latin. . The scribes embellished on a passage explaining the Trinity , which is the Catholic and Protestant belief that God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. . The oldest versions of the epistle of 1 John, read: “There are three that bear witness: the Spirit, the water and the blood and these three are one.”
Scribes later added “the Father, the Word and the Spirit,” and it remained in the epistle when it was translated into English for the King James Version, according to Dr. Bart Ehrman, Chairman of the Religion Department at UNC- Chapel Hill. . . .He no longer believes in the Nicene Trinity. .
Scholars agree that Early Christians believed in an embodied God; it was neo-Platonist influences that later turned Him into a disembodied Spirit. . Divinization, narrowing the space between God and humans, was also part of Early Christian belief. . The Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) views the Trinity as three separate divine beings , in accord with the earliest Greek New Testament manuscripts.
· The Deity of Jesus Christ
Mormons hold firmly to the deity of Christ. For members of the Church of Jesus Christ (LDS), Jesus is not only the Son of God but also God the Son. Evangelical pollster George Barna found in 2001 that while only 33 percent of American Catholics, Lutherans, and Methodists (28 percent of Episcopalians) agreed that Jesus was without sin, 70 percent of Mormons believe Jesus was sinless. http://www.adherents.com/misc/BarnaPoll.html
· The Cross: .
The Cross became popular as a Christian symbol in the Fifth Century A.D. . Members of the Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) believe the proper Christian symbol is Christs resurrection , not his crucifixion on the Cross. Many Mormon chapels feature paintings of the resurrected Christ or His Second Coming.
· Christ’s Atonement: .
But Mormons dont term Catholics and Protestants non-Christian. . They believe Christs atonement in Gethsemane and on the Cross applies to all mankind. . The dictionary definition of a Christian is of, pertaining to, believing in, or belonging to a religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ: . All of the above denominations are followers of Christ, and consider him divine, and the Messiah foretold in the Old Testament. They all worship the one and only true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and address Him in prayer as prescribed in The Lords Prayer.
Its important to understand the difference between Reformation and Restoration when we consider who might be authentic Christians. If members of the Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) embrace early Christian theology , they are likely more Christian than their detractors.

· Christ-Like Lives: . . .The 2005 National Study of Youth and Religion published by UNC-Chapel Hill found that Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) youth (ages 13 to 17) were more likely to exhibit these Christian characteristics than Evangelicals (the next most observant group):

This doesn’t surprise me. I hope you understand the intentions behind posting this. Back during the 92 Republican presidential primary, Pat Buchanan was explaining one of his reasons for running. He said that the one thing he wanted to make sure of was that no one could say “The Republican party is the party of David Duke,”. Unfortunately, some here are trying to prove him wrong.
Bot,
You missed some other normal, regular old mormon
beliefs in your haste to make it sound normal.
1. God used to be a man!
2. There is also a Goddess He reproduces with
3. Jesus was a created being like any other and
not always existing
4. Men can become gods of their own planet
5. Polytheism, based on #4.
The rest of your post obscured the truth.
best,
