JOHN Travolta blames school shootings sprees on mind-altering prescription drugs rather than poor gun control.
The Pulp Fiction star claimed: If you analyse most of the school shootings, its not gun control.
It is psychotropic drugs at the bottom of it.
Yet the most recent US school atrocity involved Virginia Tech gunman Cho Seung-Hui, who was NOT on medication when he gunned down 32 people two months ago.
Travolta, 53, added: I dont want to create controversy. Ive an opinion.
Travolta follows the Scientology religion like actor Tom Cruise, who faced a backlash in 2005 when he criticised anti-depressant drugs.
Hence the word "most" in Travolta's statement.
Johnny has it right. Good for him...in fact, it is time to watch Grease and Phenomenon again :-)
Yeah, Scientologists have always been critical of drugs like Ritalin - and sugar, too.
I don’t think he’s right here, but lenient gun laws aren’t to blame, either. The shooter(s) are to blame.
Well, at least he’s not blaming the guns. :-P
Spoken like a true Scientologist.
Excellent link!
Thanks..
"Leave me alone you mean-old FReepers."
Travolta and Cruise may have opinions, but they have zero credibility on this issue. Stick to acting, girls.
Although I can’t decide whether I loathe or detest Travolta and Scientology more...
I have to agree with him.
But, I DON’T have to watch his crappy movies.
Or Pulp Fiction...
It is psychotropic drugs at the bottom of it.
Very true. Excellent observation and they are increasingly being given out to this age group.
Didn’t that American creep/punk, who is the ‘spokesmouth’ for the murderous, islamic talibunnies, just recently say, that the gunman Cho Seung-Hui, was islamic, or something like that? And that he was acting in the name of islam, or something like that, with other murders in America? Drat; I just can’t remember it...
I’m having a ‘senior brain fart’ right now, and can’t remember his name/statement, exactly.
Can anyone help me out, here?
Opinions are like peaches - some are just right and some are rotten.
This opinion by John Travolta shows a degree of intelligence I was not aware he possessed.
I love both of those movies—Have you seen Michael? That is another good one.
I might have to give him a pass here,
but this is the strongly stated position of the Church of Scientology
And he is a disciple. This suggests it is not his opinion,
but one extending directly from his Church.
As a physician, I am intimately aware of the Blessings and Curses
of attempting to alter the fundamental pathways of mind.
The brain is an intimate dance, and altering that dance often
brings out the Law of Unintended Consequences
As for the premise of the article, how ‘gun control’ would have limited the deaths, I’ve not been able to figure out. Had students been able to use their concealed carry permits on campus, one wonders if that would have been a deterrent, or if one of the students could have taken him out.
Perhaps what we really need is a website to keep track of the number of casualties from 'gun control'.
Johnny doesn't have a flipping clue about what he's talking about. Not that I expected any different.
