Tuber finds body in Boulder

A tuber floating down Boulder Creek phoned 911 today after he bumped into a body below the 17th Street bridge.

That's exactly what I mean. They are "The Golden Bears" not bears. But, then, at Berkeley it is not PC at the "un-Free Speech", anti-capitalist, anti-free enterprise capitol of the world to even speak the word "golden" with reference to the school.

At least Stanford was hypocritical enough to change their team nickname from "Indians" to their favorite socialist color.

A “Tuber?” That’s an active verb now?

Well, as a noun, it's been appearing in New Hampshire newspapers on lake stories. ("Tubers" are pulled behind boats as well as those who float down rivers in tubes).

Sorry, but “Roll on ye’ Bears” is definitely one of the cheers. It may be they are using the “Golden” more these days, to distinguish them from other schools. Of course, back when I was there, it was never “Berkeley”, or “UC Berkeley”, but simply “California”.
