Police are looking into the discovery of an abandoned newborn baby in a wicker basket in their investigation into the disappearance of 9-months-pregnant Ohio mom Jessie Davis.

Canton, Ohio, police patrolman Bobby Cutts Jr. has two children with his wife and another child with Nikki Giavasis, who now lives in California. He is also the father of Davis' toddler son Blake, as well as her unborn baby girl. Davis disappeared last week.

Cutts is a witness in a federal lawsuit that could go to trial this year surrounding discrimination claims within the Canton Police Department against black officers.

Porter said Friday that young Blake was keeping everyone motivated and reminding them every day of his mother, whom she described as her best friend, a woman without enemies who “always had a big smile on her face.”

Blake “has periods where he just lays his head down on the couch and has this horrible look of sadness, and then the next moment he’ll have this big, beautiful smile. He really is what keeps us going,” she told ABC.

Has Blake’s ‘daddy’ asked to spend time consoling this child? Is he afraid that Blake will react to him?

IMHO any visits should be monitored by the LE investigators and supervised by a child psychologist.

Cutts Mirandized before asking for an attorney

UPDATE: 10:22 AM, Friday, June 22, 2007
BY Todd Porter
REPOSITORY STAFF WRITER

Bobby L. Cutts Jr.’s attorney, Bradley Iams, said Cutts was read his Miranda rights by Stark County sheriff’s deputies when they initially questioned him a week ago Friday. That was the day his girlfriend, Jessie Davis, was reported missing, and before Cutts had invoked his right to an attorney.

Officers searched Cutts’ car Monday night and his house Wednesday night, and FBI agents interviewed him during the day Wednesday, Iams said. He said Cutts was not Mirandized during that interview, and he does not believe he was during the search.

Cutts mother, Renee Horne, said earlier this week that she believed her son was read his rights on Wednesday.

Davis, 26, was 9-months pregnant when she disappeared. Her 2-year-old son, Blake, was found alone in her Lake Township duplex. Cutts is the father of the boy and believed to be the father of the unborn child.

Thanks for the ping. Did you see Greta last nite? Very interesting. They went to bars where Cuts was the night of the 13th and the last nite that Jessie talked to her mom.

That Wednesday nite he was at the bar from 9:30 until about 12:30

Greta then spoke to a man who is often on her show. Forget his name, but he frequents the talk show circuits, I believe he’s former law in some capacity. Anyway, he’s a Black man and he went to Cut’s mother’s house, and was invited inside. It seems they thought he was clergy. He went inside and said he saw Cuts lying on the floor on his stomach, and he was very disturbed, in emotional pain.

The family was waiting for clergy to come and pray for him. Greta asked if the family mentioned praying for Jessie or the baby and he said their names were not mentioned.

Sounds like Cuts is a psycho and he’s cracking.

“””Sounds like Cuts is a psycho and he’s cracking.”””

It is alarming to read about his personal life - shows a certain recklessness and deceit with a total disregard for women and children. He does not appear to have been financially responsible for any of his ‘out of wedlock’ offspring.

Makes one wonder what kind of character references and background checks the Canton Police Department performs for its hiring/evaluation practices.

I guess the mom finally conceded that he is a suspect. Very hard on her, the poor lady. If this guy does turn out to be guilty of her disappearance (I believe he is) then she has to deal with her grandson’s loss of both parents and the horrible truth that Daddy’s a murderer.

As far as the crime scene goes, I understand that bleach cannot get rid of the iron in blood, and that they will be able to find something there. Also, I’m wondering if they can trace fibers from Jessies comforter in Cut’s vehicle.

“”””bleach cannot get rid of the iron in blood,””””

However, bleach can degrade DNA. According to Dr. Michael Baden and probably well known to Law Enforcement and CSI Files addicts;)
