Good morning dear hearts and gentle people. Hope everybody had a great Fathers Day weekend, we sure did, and a belated HAPPY DAD’S DAY to all the great guys here on ATRW.
We now have the mobile office parked at some friends house and it’s working out well. They took us to a tractor show yesterday where we met up with other music friends and jammed. We will be getting together with those same folks again later this week to play some more.
Other music friends have plans for us to visit Wednesday and jam, and still other music friends have us invited to a pickin’ party on Saturday.
My fingers will be sausage by the time these Missouri people get done with me, HEH! Actually, my fingers should be well prepared for the upcoming festivals we will be attending next month.
Have a great day folks, I’m off to check up on the news.
>>> Raven has just gotten the news that his Stud Muffinship crown has now been passed on to a NEW ATRW Stud Muffin
That does it...I’m outa here
You’ve found some great stories, Molly; thank you! Now, let’s hope that Sarko uses his new power for good: jobs, the economy, and learns that Wealth=Healthier Environment.
New tag
Usually, that’s my particular talent. ;)
NO-NO-NO, maybe there is room for two???
Biggest flim-flam I have ever seen....
It sounds like you and Mr prairie are having a great time.
The seeds will leave this little town around 17/1800 hours this evening. Good luck. The funny things in there are the pods.
This weekend I finally had the chance to get out and do some weeding between rainstorms. It is very soothing. But I do have some conclusions about the process.
Alwaysconservative’s Weeding Maxims
1. If it is difficult to pull out, it is a weed. If, on the other hand, it jumps into your hand to be pulled, it is probably a flower.
COROLLARY: The more expensive the flower, the easier it is to pull by mistake.
2. Grass will grow anywhere. . . that you don’t want it.
COROLLARY: The really healthy grass you pull from your flower beds will not take well to being transplanted into one of the bare spots in your lawn.
3. Nature abhors a vacuum and will fill that sucker with all kinds of weeds.
COROLLARY: The weeds that fill in a vacuum will bear a striking resemblance to the plants you want to grow there, and only when they choke out your intended plants will you be able to tell the difference between them.
4. A patch you just weeded will fill up with more weeds in the 15 minutes you spent going into the house for a cold drink and to wash your hands to answer the phone.
COROLLARY: In that same time frame, any plants you have in six-packs waiting to be put in the ground will wilt and die.
5. Weeding is a solitary activity.
EXAMPLE: It is better to be alone when you name all the weeds after your “favorite” Democrats and gleefully yank them from the grounds, saying: “Take THAT, Nancy”, or “See if you can swim in that garbage bag, Teddy”.
(Grin!)
Starting to have a great time tillacum, for sure. Thundering here now, I’m off to take a nap.
The first wave of the storm blew within a half mile of us and then skirted North. I am bummed. I knew I should have washed windows this morning.
Enjoy your thunderstorm, knowing there are those of us who are envious.
I’m headed back outside to do the Hose Dance.
How are you doing? When do you get to retire?
My sweet husband bought a plant for me few months ago, I happen to be allergic to gnat bites, when they bite me I have to go to see a dermatologist :)
Well our terminix man just left with a plant for his apartment, we were inundated with those tiny, can’t see them gnats and yes a trip to the dermatologist.
Also the rain that we are having here in Texas is contributing to a growing bug population!
I'm doing okay. The changes in the barometric pressure are causing me some problems, but nothing that is going to kill me.
I have one year left in my term. So basically, at the end of Session next May will be the end of it all for me. I am really looking forward to the end of my responsibility.
Excellent.
You nailed it.
Phewww
One day down, 4 to go.
I didn’t realize you were dry out your way IG. We’ve been traveling and residing in such unsettled weather for the past month and it seemed like the entire plains must’ve been getting wet, but apparently not.
You certainly did nail it!
LOL!
Good! Greg’s in Long Island...Hot hot! BUT, he has a motel with a Sleep Number bed. Darn! I should have gone with him to see if they are worth the $$$.
