I have an amateur radio I bought for y2k and only used in to receive about 8 years ago. Just invested for an emergency.
I’m not a ham myself, just a technician with no license for the ham band. I just feel that in case of emergency anyone that can help will be welcomed.
Only wanted to test the rig and antenna. I’m north of Tampa.

QRU... You bet. Been a Ham since 1971. I even have a Ham Radio Page.
I mostly operate 2m Packet and HF on 3.592MHz checking into Western Public Service System (WPSS) in the evenings.

BTW, within reach I have 6 transceivers. Five running, and one under the wx HW8.
