12-17 year olds out at 3:30am in a stolen vehicle and why do I have a feeling someone is going to get sued because this poor tragedy could have been prevented if someone else had been more responsible

Further proof that nothing good ever happens after 2 A.M. in the morning.

The SUV owner will get sued for leaving it unlocked.

Doug Moyers said. "I can see my daughter's big toe sticking out from underneath the white blanket; that's all I can see of her is her big toe."

Well Doug, if her big toe was sticking out from underneath the comforter on her bed, she would still be alive.

Four teenagers were killed early Thursday morning when the stolen SUV they were in and a train collided.

Damn, that sucks. Sort of. I feel sorry for the train engineer.

I don’t know how parents manage to sleep at night. I don’t even have kids and I worry about them.

Swift Justice? Maybe, but why do I have the feeling that the older ones who survived where the perps and the younger kids who died were just stupid kids taking a ride for a lark and were Innocent of the robbery.

Reading the headline, I thought 4 innocent toddlers were strapped in their car seats when their mother was forced out of the van at gunpoint by a carjacker.

Then I read the “kids” were the carjackers.

Oh well...

The SUV slammed into the tanker car at a high rate of speed and went under it into a ditch

That's one accident scene I'd rather not see, thank you very much.

I have great respect for those emergency personnel who have to clean up messes like these. I don't think I could handle it.

I’m trying to dredge up some compassion, but I can’t, and the word that keeps drifting through my mind is “brats.”

I’ve done some dumb things, but a 12 year old breaking curfew at 3:30 in a stolen vehicle no less?

I feel sorry for all involved, but what annoys me most is somehow Union Pacific will be blamed. Even though I believe that trains have a passive role in all train vs anything smaller than it matches.

I think that the SUV owner should send a lawsuit to the driver as soon as that thief stabilizes.
