The system that hit parts of Wisconsin Thursday night hit Central New York last night. Close to 5,000 people were without power. Luckily no injuries.

I got the smoker fired up over labor day.....didn’t do pork.....but did do sausage, beef brisket, pork ribs, and salmon.
The ribs were the best of all of the above

I put it on at 7 took it off around 1 but i could have left it on for another hour...
I made potato salad, macaroni salad, cucumbers and red onions in vinegar and a pasta greenbeen salad. Oh yea and i threw some baked beans on the fire after I took the roast off.

Quiet day here. I’ve been very lazy today because you and everyone else wear me out just reading about what y’all have accomplished.

Nothing wrong with relaxing.
Don’t worry Miss Q, tomorrow is going to be my lazy day.
There are enough salads left over for dinner tomorrow.
We are taking the kids to the pool for a good part of the day and then we’ll come back and do burgers and dogs.
then I’ll crash.

We had a memorial service for John today. We designed it so that it was very, very ecumenical as most of those attending were not Episcopalian and we didn’t want anyone to feel left out.
Most every one I know from church was there, as were some friends from newcomers and a number of neighbors. Most of the people that John had met and interacted with were there too. Very nice medium size group.
lysie, I want to thank you for that beautiful poem, “The Rose Beyond the Wall”. I actually cut and pasted it, ran it off and used it as an insert in each of the programs. Everyone loved it.
Both of you, and everyone else at ATRW, is helping to hold me up and I appreciate it more than I can say. Thank you one and all.
I think I am going to fade out for the rest of the night and will see all in the A.M. D, SIL, Allie and JT went to Fla for a couple of days, I did not want to go, family time for them ya know.
