This, of course, requires an application of Nelson Muntz!

I am going to be blasted to hell for this but I just don’t think this is right. Why does the judge get to dictate what happens to her when the police already said that she was able to go home. If anything happens to her this would be a prime example of the family getting to sue. This whole situation is just crazy and insane.

In most states, people can be released early only by the sentencing judge. And she REALLY broke laws.

DUI Sept 2006.

Then this: She was pulled over by California Highway Patrol on Jan. 15. Officers informed Hilton she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive. She then was pulled over by sheriff's deputies on Feb. 27, at which time she was charged with violating probation.

Meanwhile, in TN the preacher’s wife-who shot her husband in the back, will serve 60 days (possibly in a mental health institution)

That stupid bitch should get the needle in my opinion. Yes I said it and stand by the word. It is true!!!! Murder should be taken seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! She had a private room with her own toilet and sink. I think other inmates would like to have that.

Why do the police get to dictate what happens to her when the judge already said that she was to serve time in jail?

Police officers are supposed to enforce the laws, not impose the sentence for breaking it.

This should be taught in your social studies class in sixth grade.

It did not occur to Greta that there was a third alternative explanation; Paris was coached and is a great actress... No illness evident the night before at her "free at last" party? Does anyone else see something rotten in Denmark?

Well. . .her 'discomfort' was psychological of course; and she was relieved no doubt; if only for a few hours; at the idea of 'freedom' - and her new haute coture ankle bracelet.

For sure, there is a great deal that is rotten here; Paris's own contributions to celebrity culture; for one. . .and all that are so influenced by it.

That said; as per my earlier response. . .do not think Paris was acting here. It is all too typical of a genuine response of a totally -out-of-touch, spoiled-beyond measure, brat; who in her wildest imaginings; could not imagine ever having to ever 'ante up' for Justice sake.

. ..and besides that; if we know ANYthing about Paris. ..we know she is not a good actress; by any stretch of imagination.

This was way too authentic, for her own scripting.

actually, now they are mourning, just wait if this judge is an elected official.

Would not take that much to finance a lawyer to run against this judge.

"Sources close to the Hilton family told Entertainment Tonight that the medical reason was a rash she developed on her body."

They were all out of nectar and ambrosia: She's allergic to anything else.

It could be that Paris’s “breakdown” was also partly a withdrawal from drugs and alchol, she is quite the party animal and recent photographs show her smoking pot. I was kind of shocked, it sounds like she has real addictions, but her mom has only taught her how to be pretty, as if that’s all that matters. If she keeps up with this lifestyle for long she will need lots of plastic surgery to hide her party-life-style.

That wasn’t her cell....it was just one I found online...

Who knows what her cell looks like...she was housed in the “special needs” unit of the 13-year-old jail, separate from most of its 2,200 inmates. The unit contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates. She didn’t have a cellmate.

>> “Hilton, who was brought to court in handcuffs in a sheriff’s car...”
>
> Now, really... Would they do that to the average Jane in these circumstances?

I suspect so, in the blink of an eye.

Use of restraints is usually a safety issue. If the Sheriff felt that he, or his prisoner, or some member of the general public, could be in danger by having the prisoner unrestrained, the cuffs go on just like that.

For a LE officer, there really is no downside to using handcuffs on a prisoner. It’s just plain safer.

The felon Paris Hilton was clearly not well-composed, not in control of herself, and throwing a hissy-fit. She probably did not surrender quietly. She’s shown a pattern of behavior that shows no respect for the Law or for other people. Her behavior while in transport would be unpredictable.

The Sheriff would be remiss in not taking the precaution of restraining her and would receive heavy criticism if, for example, she were able to put up a violent resistance and someone got hurt.

The average Jane, doing the same thing, would get exactly the same treatment.
