That must have been a long tent to extend from PA to NJ.
(I think camp Mosey Wood is in PA. Your headline says it’s in NJ. I think the girl is from NJ.)

If you see a Bear... climb a tree.

If you are on ice and snow, there are no trees and a white bear kills you it’s a polar bear.

Like illegals under Sham-nesty, this bear will be afforded full New Jersey protection under the law once chased across the border into N.W. New Jersey. This would be better termed “Project Sanctuary N.J.”

I just saw 2 black bears this morning. This no hunt/love the bears bumper sticker garbage has got to stop before precious life is lost. And we’re just waiting for a widespread bear tick outbreak here.

Man has been given dominion over the animals(and, yes, charged to care for them). This means managing their population size, for one thing.

/rant Ah, that feels a little better.

More like punishing the Red Counties, I say.

And I thought New Mexico had more than it’s share of bad critters!

I was thinking it was a Massasauga Rattler
but shortly after posting the pics I received a suggestion
that it might be an Eastern Hog-nosed snake.
Some online research confirmed that it matched what I experienced.
It has some odd defensive behavior.
I posted a bit about it in #124 of that thread.

My cousin got pulled out of his tent in his sleeping bag by his head by a bear when he was a boy.

That makes sense. It was annoyed because, from the looks of the pictures, it was trying to get it’s winter long johns off!

Glad to hear Sam is still looking out for you instead of laying waste to broad tracts of the countryside and killing everything in his path like he’s “supposed” to do. :)
