It’s so odd that anyone thinks we can predict or change the weather. I wonder if any of these people ever simply go outside and look up at the sky. If they did they might figure out it’s a darn big place with lots of things happening. Too many things happening for any human or human made device to understand.

Here is the National Hurricane Center's record of the number of hurricanes to strike the US (by decade) since 1850.

It shows they run on a roughly 50-year cycle, peaking last in the 1940's, so we're due for an increase.
