Dog owners have long maintained that their pooches have a lot more going on between their furry ears than scientists acknowledge. Now, new research is adding to the growing evidence that man's best friend thinks a lot more than many humans have believed.
The provocative new experiment indicated that dogs can do something that previously only humans, including infants, have been shown capable of doing: decide how to imitate a behavior based on the specific circumstances in which the action takes place.
More technology news "The fact that the dogs imitate selectively, depending on the situation -- that has not been shown before," said Friederike Range of the University of Vienna, who led the study. "That's something completely new."

Had I been shorter or the dog a little taller, he might have been feasting on my nether regions.
Pretty soon, all you would have to do is open "that" cupboard...and she'd stand up, twirl around, lay down and roll over.
What was she thinking?? "One of these is bound to work".
That is just too cute!
and he liked you!
I took the wonder dog to the vets —(she spent a week in the place last fall when she almost died there) —and the minute she stuck her nose in the door and sniffed I KNEW she said NO WAY as she pulled outa there. I had to drag her in. She made no peep when they took her to draw blood. She is a very well behaved dog.
Yes, thanks! Butter Bean (BB) is 7 months old today and she is wild....sweet, but wild! :]

loosh does that at the groomers, he tries to hide behind my legs, hoping no one will notice him. chanel bounced right on in and was all excited to be there. she hasn’t been there enough to know what a torture chamber it is!!

LOL - we have a family of bears who come out into our neighborhood at dusk..........I am waiting for the first encounter with them while walking my two. We have a bischon frise and a black cocker spaniel.....the cocker is a barker when she sees other dogs.....I wonder what she will do when she spots the bears......
What they all think: If you can't eat it or screw it; piss on it.
Oooh, look at that sweet little baby! What a cutie pie!
My dogs hate wet grass. Half of our back yard is pea-stone.
thanks, she is a feisty little snip and is always agitating her “brother”.
the 4 yo male will go on the front steps, or the walkway, to avoid wet grass. the 9 mo old pup figures she will just wait til she gets in on the oriental rugs! it was a rough morning this AM, bc no one wanted to go even though it wasn’t raining and the grass was just wet! i did manage to scoot her into the garage, but even so!
