Let's put this under the category of "all good things must come to an end."
For the vast majority of 2,264 days, I have had the distinct honor and priviledge of starting this thread for the benefit of all who frequent this place.
It has been a blessing and one I will remember for the rest of my days.
Having been here through the start of the Iraq War, the immigration battles (which are still going on), hurricane KATRINA, and through all of it holding true to the Constitution, and the goal of improving the "American Way of Life". What I have learned in that time is that there are so many others who believe in these same principles--often there are those who express these things more elequontly than myself.
Demands on my life at this point, however, are dictating a change. I am finding it less and less possible to carve out the time to be faithful and true to the thread. I have kids getting ready for college, major turmoil at work (not my doing, but I'm stuck in it), and competing hobbies.
I will just cut right to it, I don't have the time in the morning anymore like I used to.
Thus, it is with a heavy heart that I have concluded this will be the last time I intend to start the ATRW thread. I would still like to be a member of this august group, but I think I would much prefer to post when I have time, because I need to get some time back to myself--particularly in the morning as I figure out what I need to do during the day.
I realize this is sudden and I apologize. I do hope, and I believe, that you folks will carry on. I am not leaving FreeRepublic, just becoming more of a "back bencher" for awhile. I wish to remain on ATRW's ping list for as long as ATRW continues.
I hope everyone understands. I'm just burned out.
Thanks.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
I would like to join others in thanking you, Mr. Chairman, for starting this thread each morning for all these years.
This is the only place on FR I really post, although not as much as others, but rarely mniss reading it.
I am happy to see that Molly and lysie are volunteering to continue it.
Rep. Jefferson, D, La, has been indited big time and as expected, the politicians in La is saying it is because of him being black and the hurricane. Here is the Truth, HE IS A CROOK!
Thanks, sweeties!
And kudos and thanks to you, lysie and Molly, for taking on the task of continuing this welcome thread of friends.
Good, glad you are staying....We've had enough of those Opuses around here (FR) or whatever they call them.....
:-)
Thanks for starting the thread almost every day and for sharing all your knowledge with us!
Chairman, thank you for your years of service to America - the Right Way! It has been a long haul. I have enjoyed reading your opening essays; they have been inspired. Your weather reports have been phenomenal. I wish you would keep doing that as a regular poster. And what would Christmas be without your Christmas Tree in our opening posts? We’ve enjoyed the views of your cottage during the Christmas season. Thank you.
And so, where to go from here? This is the longest running daily thread on Free Republic. We’ve suffered losses through the years but especially in recent months. GC6 said it has been like friends moving from the neighborhood and we’re not sure if we’ll see them again. That was a very apt analogy.
Molly, I think it is time to go to a weekly long-running thread with another for the weekends. When our regular posts get back up to the numbers of before; and I think they will; we could then go back to a daily with perhaps a consortium doing the hosting honors. If you and Lysie are willing, I would be glad to follow your lead.
The last thing I would like is for the thread to fade into the sunset. I don’t think any of us would like that.
Thank you, Chairman, for taking the helm for so long.
Welcome to the backbench!
The very good news about this is that he’ll be tried in VIRGINIA and not LA. I don’t think they could get enough people to be impartial in LA.
Chair, what about VA? What would be the probability of being able to seat an impartial jury there?
I’m expecting the electricity to be cut off in just a few minutes, so I’m shutting down the computer. I’ll put us over the top and then be back later today.
Over the top.
A lady doing the job a man won’t.
Hmmm, is that Chair? He’s a cutie. Of course I can say that, I’m an old geezer.
Takes one to know one..so there. ;-) Thank you, Molly.
I had the lovely chance to design a woodland garden, this day ... lysie .... Sweetspire and Snowberry, some Bayberry and Witch Hazel as well .. there’s a Blue Bird nest in the yard, which made me smile ... as do you ...
I am game and will even help with threads if allowed/wanted/needed.
Poor Old Soul. I had a Lab that would hide under the couch and in doing so had to lift it some with his back.
Did you watch the game last night? Teehee! Could not have been happier that it was Alex who hit the winning HR.
Did y'alls ever notice how the leaves on a Maple will droop right before a rain? Indeed so ... they do ... so many touches, we're given, of perfect miracles ... I know I miss most of them ... still ... I catch some of them ... and there's a miracle, right there ....
lepton ... You will let ... I am on a roll ... stand?! ... *grin*
I think of you often ...
