As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!
Good morning!!
We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!
The horror.
This morning the Washington Pravda (called the Post by the evangelists of the left) is running a piece that leaves absolutely no comfort whatsoever in the hearts of those desiring to protect the American Way.
President Bush appears to have caved on the subject of Global Warming.
No kidding.
The President yesterday took the initiative to put the United States out in front in agreeing to goals for reducing so-called greenhouse gas emissions--in particular, carbon dioxide. The President outlined this in his speech for his priorities at the G8 summit next week in Germany.
The problem is fundamental. Carbon dioxide is the end product of the process of combustion--the key to liberating energy from the most efficient of fuels. While it is true there is more than simply a casual relationship between the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the ability to retain radient energy (the planet would be unlivable if this were not true as the surface temperature would be well below zero), no one has been able to answer a fundamental question--what is the mathematical relationship between the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and temperature change. Is it linear? Doesn't appear to be, otherwise planet temperatures would be far higher now as carbon levels have gone up by tens of percentage points over the last decades. So what is it?
Talk has been made of a so-called "tipping point", the point at which carbon dioxide levels would cause temperature increases. Again--what is that level? No one seems to be able to have an answer.
Then there is the anecdotal information available to everyone. Supposedly the planet is warming, but there have been record snowfalls over the northern United States in recent years--indeed, just a couple of years ago northern Virginia received over 60 inches of snow during the winter!
Simply stated, from iceagenow.com, you cannot say its getting warmer when the refrigerator is getting colder.
As has been pointed out on numerous occassions, the meteorological process that generates the east coast blizzards associated with the nor'easter storms requires the collision between warm and cold air masses. As cold air cannot hold as much water vapor as warm air (and the colder the air, the less water vapor it holds), the moisture is squeezed out of the tropical portion of the storm and falls. The greater this temperature difference, the more efficient the process--in other words, more precipitiation. Of course, if the difference is great enough, the cold side is below freezing at the surface, causing snow.
It is also well established that soil changes temperature far more readily than water (in fact, changing the temperature of water requires the transfer of more energy per unit of mass than just about any other substance). People usually intuitively know this--that's why we throw water on a fire to put it out.
Intuition would also suggest that if snowfall levels are increasing, then the process for creating such must be working better--and that there is more cold air available to create the outcome.
Problem is, all the hot air surrounding the subject of global warming is apparently melting people's common sense.
Unfortunately, the President seems to have joined that crowd.
Say good bye to prosperity.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
I get burned out to sometimes but I have made many a friend here, salts of the earth. Sure hate to see you go, please rethink it, huh?
Good morning to the Dawn Patrol! Our ranks may be dwindling but there are still some of us who can make it out of the hanger.
Add extra salt..
Toby, it is you and me hanging in and holdin’ it together.
Well, there are others but the line sounded good.
We have a brother and sister team in our church that go all over everyplace to sing, it is kind of like the singers in the little ole church in the hills but they are wonderful. The sister is 91. She gave lessons to Lee Ann Rime's (?) at one time and now is working with Allie, my GD
My two roosters (Bill and Al are on my front porch crowing up a a storm.
Good morning.
Good morning, how are you today, me, tired for some reason.
I would have loved it. That is one thing I am looking forward to so much. The church services here are lacking, imho, and I am really looking forward to the church at home.
You coming home soon?
It is like seeing friends moving from the neighborhood..hopefully they will return.
Yes, we’re leaving Wednesday and we’ll be home until August 19.
Good morning.
Still raining here, and that is a good thing.
Up and at ‘em, Rav!
Ya’ know, ever since that one particular day, Raven has been a bit sporadic about joining us on the morning shift. I wonder how he’s passing his time now? Perhaps he’s playing pool on the table of his. Jus’ speculatin’.
Wish we'd get a little rain. Looks like we might.
Good morning
Trying to wake up so i can make it to wallyworld
I broke a fan last night.
Been putting off getting the AC in the window because I lose most of the sun.
Good morning.
>>Good morning to the Dawn Patrol!
This next election isn’t about abortion or immigration. It’s about the end of our freedom.
It’a about the liberals’s eternal dream for socialism.
Yes, we all thought it was dead (except - I had a neighbor to constantly remind me)
A Dem Prez and a Dem congress brings control of our health care, our energy, cars, and economy (global warming), our paychecks, and definately our lifestyle (way down)
I’m by myself this weekend. M went to pick up our new puppy from her brother in Chicago.
So, I’m going to attack the garage (still filled with boxes from the move)
