LOS ANGELES - Paula Abdul broke her nose over the weekend after she fell while trying to avoid stepping on her Chihuahua, her publicist said Monday.
Abdul was recovering from the mishap and will appear on "American Idol" Tuesday and its season finale Wednesday, publicist David Brokaw said.
"She's a little sore, but is doing fine," he said.
Abdul told the syndicated entertainment TV show "Extra" she tore cartilage in her nose and fractured her toe.
"I took a nasty fall ... trying not to hurt my dog. I bruised myself on my arm ... my chest, my waist all the way down to my hip. All from my little chubby Tulip," Abdul said.
The dog was not hurt, Brokaw said.
It is not true that the chihuahua had been drinking.
I knew those dogs were dangerous. Ban them!

Paula Abdul Refutes Claims She’s On Drugs

American Idol’s most loveable judge, Paula Abdul, has released a statement saying that she’s not addicted to drugs after reading posts about her recent behaviour on the AI message boards.
Abdul was diagnosed with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy last November, a chronic neurological disorder that’s been keeping her in severe pain.
The ex-singer/dancer has had 12 operations and told People magazine that nobody would judge her if they knew what she has lived through.
Abdul said that when she was 17, she had a cheerleading accident that injured a disc in her neck. That injury was the first in a long list of painful incidents for Abdul that include car accidents, bulimia, paralysis and many failed treatments for her condition. She said that by 1999, she’d have done anything to fight the constant pain she was in. She admitted to jamming her neck into the corners of walls to fight the pain.
Abdul says she now takes a once-a-week shot of anti-inflammatory drugs that she administers herself. She says people who were attributing her AI judging behaviour to a drug addiction are completely wrong and that her current state is a miracle.
In March, Abdul pled no contest to a hit and run driving incident on the San Fernando Valley freeway. She was fined and has to complete two years of probation.
