Mr. Laplante's been very busy.

I was interviewed by Matthew D. LaPlante for the Salt Lake Tribune; ostensibly about Military Moms. I don’t remember him asking me even one question about that. His article was published the next day with the headline, “Dr. Laura to G.I. wives: No Whining.” Although this interview went over one-half hour, and I covered a wide range of subjects pertinent to military families and the war, he chose a comment, one that I’ve made before many times on the air, to make the primary focus of his article - and, he took it out of the entire context of my remarks. I am so deeply sad and disappointed that this out of context comment appears to have caused hurt and pain to military spouses - people that I’ve spent so much time helping. I am frustrated that people who haven’t heard my program would be misled as to my attitude and intent.

I'm thinking this latest articlel is to further damage Dr. Laura and her family.

It would be horrible if this is real. The content just seems so evil to me. It doesn’t seem like an American soldier (espeically one with such a conservative mother who works with military families) would ever post such vile images and hateful comments. It sounds like someone could have hacked his MySpace. I really hope it was a hack job, and he didn’t do this.

Matthew D. LaPlante is out to get Dr. Laura for some reason. The bizarre nonstory he attacked her with two weeks ago was bad...but this story is evil. Obviously the myspace page was fake, but LaPlante sure doesn’t want you to believe it.

I feel bad for her. She was genuinely hurt from LaPlante’s last smear. Monday at 3pm will be a good time to be in front of a radio.

If it’s true, the kid’s got problems. None of us were, or are, cut out to see death and dismemberment on a regular basis. Even a lot of men and women that have been there don’t really grasp how badly some people can be affected and altered by a war.

He probably started out with a lot of problems to begin with. Going to war at a young age does not help anybody. If this is really what he’s done, and I’m not saying it is on the basis of this report, I hope that he gets the help he needs as soon as he can.
