California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has refused to be drawn into Paris Hilton's jail appeal, insisting he has more pressing matters to deal with.
The desperate socialite, who was sentenced to serve 45 days in jail earlier this month after violating terms of her 2006 drunk-driving arrest, has teamed up with a pal to pioneer an online petition begging the politician for a pardon.
The appeal, which is addressed to Schwarzenegger, claims "the American public who support Paris are shocked, dismayed and appalled by how Paris has been the person to be used as an example that drunk driving is wrong."
Earlier this week Schwarzenegger's press secretary insisted it was premature to comment on the case, but his boss hinted yesterday her campaign was likely to end in disappointment.
Schwarzenegger said, "I've never got any request. But I have many more important things to think about."
I wonder how many people would sign a petition to give her 45 years?

The rest of us, though, don’t give a damn.
So’s Zola Budd...
(Don't they teach that in school anymore?)
” Arnold Schwarzenegger ‘Too Busy’ To Bother With Paris Hilton “
As are we all — with the exception of FNC, of course.....
45 Days seems to be too long, at least by California standards. If Ahhnold does any thing, he should leave her in the slam a few weeks without any indication of a reprieve. Hopefully, that will straighten out the b..ch where her mother has proven inadequate and nurturing (of poor behavior). Besides, she may release a new tape of herself with her prison “pals”.
Count me in on that one LOL
She should try acting like a responsible adult for a change.
45 days just might let her know that pricilege dosnt mean she can turn up her nose at laws the rest of us have to obey.
What do you call trailer trash that has a hotel fortune.?
I dont know the answer, but she is surely trailer trash, fortune or no.
David Spade had a great line on his show the other night saying that he wondered how many people would check off a box on their tax form donating $1 to keep her in jail.
“If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.”
Yes but a fair amount of time would have been nice. Does anyone know if this is the right amount of time that normal people would get or did she get a longer sentence because she is a celebrity. I think it should be fair across the board. I personally think the time is too long for what she did. There are people walking around with four DUI’s and never spent a night in jail except for the initial day. That wacko women who killed her pastor husband got four years for MURDER? Forty-Five days for being a brat is not the same.
The moron should have hired a chauffeur. She can afford it.
It seems there is a segment of the population that thinks that the flaxin-headed little ho’s sh!t don’t stink.
What a sad state for the country. the Governator, who is WRONG on so many issues, gets this one right.
Free Paris
Check!
She’s actually going to jail for a parole violation, not directly for the DUI.
My brother had a DUI in California and was sentenced to a few weekends in “jail” - picking up trash on a roadside detail, no overnights. He wasn’t driving on a suspended license at the time like PH, though he got one for the offense.
And he said that he and all the other prisoners with suspended licenses drove to jail time - how else could they get there?
Mrs VS
She has shown through her deeds a contempt of the court. She’s lucky it’s only 45 days. The next time (and there will be a next time) I hope it’s state prison.
She did not get 45 days for being a brat.
She got 45 days for being a repeat offender and violating the terms of her probation. What should she get, more probation?
45 days is nothing. She probably spends 45 days a year in a salon.
