“If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.”

Yes but a fair amount of time would have been nice. Does anyone know if this is the right amount of time that normal people would get or did she get a longer sentence because she is a celebrity. I think it should be fair across the board. I personally think the time is too long for what she did. There are people walking around with four DUI’s and never spent a night in jail except for the initial day. That wacko women who killed her pastor husband got four years for MURDER? Forty-Five days for being a brat is not the same.

She’s actually going to jail for a parole violation, not directly for the DUI.

My brother had a DUI in California and was sentenced to a few weekends in “jail” - picking up trash on a roadside detail, no overnights. He wasn’t driving on a suspended license at the time like PH, though he got one for the offense.

And he said that he and all the other prisoners with suspended licenses drove to jail time - how else could they get there?

She has shown through her deeds a contempt of the court. She’s lucky it’s only 45 days. The next time (and there will be a next time) I hope it’s state prison.

She did not get 45 days for being a brat.

She got 45 days for being a repeat offender and violating the terms of her probation. What should she get, more probation?

45 days is nothing. She probably spends 45 days a year in a salon.

That may be true, and I might be able to muster up a thimble full of “give-a-crap” for her if she was asking the governor for a reduction in her sentence, but she’s asking to be let off the hook entirely. I don’t think that’s right either.

I know of a first time DUI offender who got two weeks. Besides, parole violation is a serious thing. It’s what allows good people to continue their lives by the grace of the court under the pretense that they repent and will do better. Taking advantage of that societal good will must not be tolerated.

You sound like you need some jail time.

She was given an extremely fair amount of time. The 45 days in jail wasn't for just a DUI. It was for a DUI probation + Driving with suspended license twice and basically contempt of court. You would have been sentences for 6 months minimum guaranteed. She is still getting off easy.

She also showed up about an hour late for her court appearance...which pi$$ed off the judge too.

She's in the poky for a little bit more than being a brat. Drunk driving without a license while on probation. I can't imagine why you would trivialize that.

Forty-Five days for being a brat
