Who really did kill Kennedy?
BROTHERS THE HIDDEN HISTORY OF THE KENNEDY YEARS BY DAVID TALBOT
Reviewed by Dan Cornford
THE AUTHOR WILL CONVINCE MANY NOT WEDDED TO THE WARREN COMMISSION FINDINGS THAT THE LIKELIHOOD OF A CONSPIRACY TO ASSASSINATE JFK (AND MAYBE RFK) IS SIGNIFICANT.
NOTWITHSTANDING THE DEFICIENCIES OF SOME SOURCES, TALBOT'S HIGHLY READABLE, AT TIMES GRIPPING BOOK MAKES THE CASE FOR RELEASING THE CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS PERTAINING TO THE JFK ASSASSINATION.
TALBOT SUMMARIZES MORE COMPELLING AND TROUBLING EVIDENCE. IN PARTICULAR, QUESTIONS REMAIN ABOUT THE ROLE CIA AGENT GEORGE JOANNIDES MAY HAVE PLAYED.
DECLASSIFIED JFK FILES REVEAL THAT IN 1963, JOANNIDES WAS THE AGENT IN CHARGE OF ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL CUBAN ANTI-CASTRO ORGANIZATIONS IN MIAMI, THE REVOLUTIONARY STUDENTS DIRECTORATE, OR DRE. A FEW MONTHS BEFORE JFK'S ASSASSINATION, THE DRE HAD SIGNIFICANT CONTACT WITH LEE HARVEY OSWALD, AND OSWALD ATTEMPTED TO INFILTRATE THE NEW ORLEANS BRANCH OF THE DRE.
IN THE COURSE OF FOUR INTENSIVE INVESTIGATIONS OF THE JFK ASSASSINATION, HOWEVER, THE CIA FAILED TO DIVULGE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS CONNECTION, OR EVEN THAT JOANNIDES WAS THE CIA OFFICER ASSIGNED TO MANAGE THE DRE, AND REFUSED TO RELEASE IMPORTANT PARTS OF JOANNIDES' PERSONNEL FILE.
AMONG OTHER THINGS, TALBOT'S BOOK IS AN IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTION TO A RECENT AND GROWING CHORUS OF KENNEDY AUTHORS AND RESEARCHERS, INCLUDING GERALD POSNER, THE MOST OFT-CITED AUTHORITY FOR THE "ONE GUNMAN/NO CONSPIRACY" THESIS, CALLING FOR A REOPENING OF INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE JFK ASSASSINATION OR, AT MINIMUM, FOR THE CIA TO RELEASE PERTINENT, IDENTIFIED DOCUMENTS THAT MIGHT SHED LIGHT ON THE SUBJECT.
IN SEPTEMBER, ON GROUNDS OF NATIONAL SECURITY, THE CIA SUCCESSFULLY THWARTED A REQUEST FOR SUCH INFORMATION.
UNTIL IT IS RELEASED, MANY AUTHORS OR CITIZENS WITH AN INTEREST IN THE ISSUE WILL REASONABLY SPECULATE THAT CRUCIAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE JFK ASSASSINATION IS BEING CONCEALED.

I had no idea that the author of "Case Closed" was asking for the case to be "reopened"
The link is not working...thought that you might want to know.
Bush’s Fault.
Lee Harvey Oswald. By himself.
Truth hurts!
bad link
Second, try as they might, NO ONE has been able to produce the sound of a fourth shot (let alone other shots) on the dictaphone recording. I have listened to it. There are clear differences in the motorcycle backfire and the shots (again, see #1).
Third, I think there is a huge difference between admitting (which Posner does NOT do) that there are unanswered questions raised by David Lifton and perhaps by Howard Donahue and concluding that there was another/were other gunman or gunmen. I don't see the two as mutually exclusive. For example, Lifton claims that the body appeared to have undergone a "pre-autopsy," and he establishes without question (I think) that the body arrived at the back of Bethesda, in a black ambulance, unloading a grey shipping casket with JFK inside. If true, that in no way means LBJ "did it." Rather, it means that LBJ, terrified that the Russkies may have killed JFK, wanted to know the "skinny" before the "official" word leaked out so he would be prepared to deal with a potential nuke war if necessary.
Another thing to consider: Bobby Kennedy, not J. Edgar Hoover, was the most powerful law enforcement person on earth. Whatever happened, his actions must be accounted for. Why didn't he order a full-scale investigation? There are several potential explanations. One is that he KNEW what JFK was up to, and didn't want all those "skeletons" revealed, particularly the Cuban stuff and the bimbos. Another, more intriguing alternative, is that Donahue is right: that Lee Harvey Oswald fired two shots, hitting JFK once and severing his spine, but that the third shot, the head shot, came from an AR-15 directly behind JFK . . . in the Secret Service trail car (photos validate such a weapon directly behind JFK at the time of the shooting, in the hands of agent George Hickey). Donahue argues that Hickey picked up the rifle, began to turn as he flipped the safety off, and slipped, discharging the weapon in JFKs direction and hitting him.
Seems far-fetched, but again, think of Bobby: aside from my first explanation, this is the ONLY other explanation as to why he would not have exhausted all resources looking for the "killer." He knew who the killers were---Oswald and the accidental shooter, an SS agent. What would have been the value in allowing THAT to come out into the public? So pin it all on Oswald, who was guilty anyway, and seal it up.
The point is, there are a lot of explanations that tie up the loose ends without getting into looney tinfoil hat conspiracy theories.
This might help:
Thanks. This one should work:

BUT THE CAPS-LOCK KEY IS!
WHY DO YOU HAVE TO SHOUT?
YOU THINK WE ARE DEAF?
Best theory I heard to date was a caller on some late night talk show who said it was a suicide. Claimed Kennedy shot himself and had the whole theory worked out with answers for everything.
Had to give him credit for original thinking if nothing else....
LOL.
THe '68 gun control act is a case in point.
Yeah, all-caps reporting enhances the credibility of any report. It’s not like it makes the author look like a barking loon or anything.
I don’t believe Oswald did it by himself and I certainly don’t believe the “magic bullet” claim of the official report.
Mentos and diet soda.
Why wouldn't he? If he believes the evidence will support his hypothesis, why not bring all the evidence to light? Silence just breeds rumors.
Well put. Now all that needs doing is to convince the 'lone gunmen' fanatics of that fact.
(psssstttt LBJ did it) ;0)
Funny thing is, if you drop a few Mentos in a bottle of Diet Coke, it always seem to spew back and to the left. Back and to the left. Back and to the left. Back and to the left.
Cigarette smoking man?
OK, so I *should* actually read the article...
