Just remembered something been meaning to post for a couple of weeks, sheesh!
My husband went around a corner in a building downtown and came face to face with a woman in a burka. He said it about freaked him out! ..Not sure what my reaction would be...beyond "freaking" I'd say...
Anyone else have this experience?

Won’t be able to get that close to the Queen with the security around. They’d arrest me. :) I think there will be some converage on the local news. Everyone could check out the Daily Dose while the Queen is in town....they should have some pictures of both Bush and the Queen.

Add to that we lost 2 people due to promotions and one of those slots we lost due to budget cuts so now its just myself and the secretary. I have not been a happy camper for the past 2 months and it just gets worse as the secretary goes on leave the week before and graduation week.
It’s not fair to ask her to cancel because she puts her leave in a year ahead of time.
Management shouldn’t really drag their feet in hiring for the one vacant position but I can the moss growing under that ROCK.
So I’ll be doing a major solo..

Interesting that you brought this up, Molly ... here is what happened to me the other day ...
A couple came in to the nursery yard .... the woman in a burka .... I approached ... the, I assume, husband who was in the process of telling his wife that she should not talk and keep quiet. I heard this.
He was dressed all in white ... from the top of his head to his feet ... so unnerving ... he would not let me help him ... lacking a male in the yard .... he left .... I will never forget that ... no matter what I said, he didn't want to hear or listen ....
Scary!
I've never experienced anything like that before.
I've a female Muslim client who has a passion for gardening .... and we measure ... she and I ... her purchases ... she'll go back to her husband ... a man I have never met ... and she will come back to me and give me the limits he has set for her ... through these times, I've learned as much as she is willing to share ... but it is always measured ....

Fantastic weather today. I needed a sweatshirt outside until around 11:00. And again, shortly after 6:00 as I was delivering meals to the corn planting crew. (I shall not whine that each of them is in a different field, dealing with a different stage of field prep, so I have to wander around in my car looking for them. )
If you don’t hear from me again, you will know I’ve been arrested for child (age 29) abuse and most likely jailed. He doesn’t answer his phone when his Mother calls trying to figure out ‘where’ to deliver his food.

Well you haven’t tasted mine. They are a terror beyond a terror. Water, salt & pepper, 2 TBSP butter and gently simmer for not less than 30 minutes, after they have come to a rolling boil for 2 minutes. I seldom eat them but Roomey has them at least twice a week. He’s a grit freak. He eats them even with jelly. uck.
Take some vanilla and rub it on your skin. flies of any kind don’t like it. I’ve heard. I use the clear vanilla on the golf course and the nats, misquetoes and black flies stay away from me.
