Quarterback Tom Brady has yet to publicly comment on the Patriots' acquisition of receiver Randy Moss, but his actions speak volumes.
As part of the whirlwind process that brought Moss to New England, Brady provided a key assist.
Because the Patriots had to acquire the original terms of Moss's contract as part of the trade with the Raiders, the team needed to clear salary cap space to absorb the $9.75 million figure that Moss was scheduled to earn.
Enter Brady, who agreed to restructure his present contract that runs through 2010 to create the space.
That allowed the Patriots to finalize the trade for Moss, who then tore up his old contract and signed a one-year, $3 million deal that could be worth up to $5 million in incentives.
"Tom does what he can in order to win," said Don Yee, his agent.
Brady's involvement with the Moss discussions was just one of the layers to a beat-the-clock process that began when the Patriots received permission from the Raiders to speak with Moss late Saturday night after the first three rounds of the draft.
At that point, Moss still had to fly to New England to take a physical and meet with team officials, all before the second day of the draft began at 11 a.m. Sunday.
While quarterbacks and receivers often talk about being on the same page on the field, Brady's actions have helped him get off to a strong start with Moss off the field.

Nah, he acts up he won't last long in NE, his already on notice by El Presidante Belichick:
"Moss also comes to New England with the warning that, as Bill Parcells used to say, the light is yellow and ready to turn red. The Patriots have notified Moss that, under no circumstance, will they tolerate any of the transgressions that have marked his career. The first controversial incident that Moss is involved in will be his last. The Patriots insist they will release him."

Last I checked the Pats are quick on the draw with releasing players, no matter who they are...well with exception of maybe Brady. LOL!!

Terry Glenn was with the New England Patriots from 1996-2001 when he got benched by Belichick because of off-the-field problems. He was traded to the Packers in 02 and the following year the Packers traded him to Dallas.
Yup, in 9/06 it was on Inside the NFL I heard Brady agreed to take a pay cut for "the good of the team" so they could sign on some great receivers and instead they get rid of Deion Branch and don't make any attempt to draft a #1 or #2 receiver.
Yup, he took a pay-cut to stay with the patriots, in 2003 he took a massive pay cut to make room for more players in the salary cap from $3 million to $450,000,, last year he took a pay cut with that whole Branch situation, now with this Moss situation he does it again. Typical Brady.
He'd be shown the door faster then he can sneez. Just as his ex-Oakland buddy there Gabriel was when he was cut by New England amid rumors that he was unreliable and often late for team meetings last year. That sh it don't fly in Camp Belichick.
Then don't too attached. He'll be gone by the playoffs.
Terry Glenn was a first round draft pick (7th overall) in 1996 before Belichick was the Head Coach. He was an excellect receiver when he wasn’t dogging it, but in 2001 Belichick determined he was a disruptive influence on the team. Glenn played in only 4 games in 2001 and was sent packing for two 4th round draft picks.
Thanks for the info. Belichick shares much in common with Bill Walsh from the 49ers. He also would not put up with players like T.O. etc.
Oh don't worry, no one is until results are seen, which is why NE fans see this as a win/win situation for the Pats: 4th round pick for a potential good player that they can add to all their other offensive weapons Brady can throw to this season who could either play by Pat rules and help lead them towards another SB and if not oh well its not like they loose anything; it was a steal. In the end they still made out like bandits they traded a 4th round pick to the Raiders for Moss they acquired a 7th round pick from the Raiders this year as well as a 3rd round pick from them for 08 and another 1st round pick for '08 thanks to the 49ers. The Pats, who were not hurting as SB contenders any, had ten draft picks going into the 2007 Draft, that was the 2nd most amongst the league. Pioli and Crew have done it again. ;)
