Thanks. I’m not freaked out at the moment, but I am a bit on the introspective side. LOL! I posed my question to the doc here and she said it is an interesting theory. I told her that was a remarkable non-answer and we both laughed.

I’m reading through your macrobiotic diet. One theory I’ve heard somewhere is that cancers feed off proteins. Well, I may now be restricting my diet to just complex carbs found in veggies. I will NOT be adding simple carbs back in until I hit my ideal weight.
FYI, my current target is 54 kilos. As I get close I’ll re-evaluate to see if that is reasonable. Currently my rate of weight loss is 1 kilo a week and that is a good rate.
It has been quite a few years since I bought roses from J&P. Actually since I lived in NC & was in Rose Society there.

I am very familiar with the macrobiotic diet. There are two types. The regular & the “healing”(must more strict). I work with a cancer support group that is VERY big in natural supplementation
Basically you eliminate refined sugar, refined flour, acids, meat/meat products from your diet. NO soft drinks or bottled/canned juices. Fruit too is minimal (sugar).
Cancer feeds off sugar & off acid. The reason for eliminating meat is to take pressure off the digestive system so the BTUs aren’t wasted on digestion & are instead preserved for the immune system.
The diet isn’t a healer but is a facilitator so that the body can kick in naturally with minimal stress & let the immune system do it’s thing
This diet is good ANY TIME one is fighting an infection, virus etc.
We have had remarkable success with this program with our participants.
I have already eliminated the simple sugars, and flours from my diet. It is primarily complex carbs and proteins and diet coke. OK. I’ll eliminate diet coke and cut back on the meat proteins. Increase the alkalines? I need to read up on this.
However, I’ll wait to see what the results on Tuesday are. LOL!
What about tea with a synthetic sweetner?

The Kushi Institute in Mid Massachusetts is the best place for info or to go for classes (one week sessions available). Dr. Kushi from the orient is considered the father of the modern Macrobiotic diet.
Well if you start in on it, there will be help for your infection if we are lucky & that is the problem.

If Dick Cheney were running next year, this election would be over. He is probably the best I’ve ever seen at smiling while sticking the dagger in. He made mincemeat of Joe Lieberman, who I consider a good man, in their debate in 2000 and absolutely destroyed the Breck Girl 3 years ago.
