I have NEVER participated in any of the ATRW or Day in the Life of Bush threads for the simple fact that the ones I’ve read don’t really seem to have a lot of substance.

So, you came to this thread just to point out that you don't post here? We've been coming to this thread for years just to sit down and chat because we're NOT consumed by politics. There is more to life than a never-ending campaign.

Hi there, CPT Clay. Stop by more often!

Raven, how long are you "over there"? Is it spring yet where you are??

If you bothered to read through the thread, I was responding to a specific thread. I have nothing against this thread, it just doesn't interest me all that much.

There is more to life than a never-ending campaign.

You're right, over 3000 infants are slaughtered in the United States EVERY SINGLE DAY and this has been going on for thirty four years. But if I came to one of these threads and brought that up, I would probably be dismissed as a social conservative who was ruining the GOP.

Well, I just went back and read thru the whole thread.

I have to say this: I've never, ever wanted to be a part of some of the most vociferous threads...Elian...Schaivo...now Giuliani...but within limits, and yes, that even includes to some extent name calling, that style has long existed on FR, and hasn't really bothered me.

It's a given that we're passionately informed, or maybe not...but we're going to take the outlet to express ourselves and do so strongly at times....because we conservatives haven't had a lot of outlets...

Now if some people here did that "over there", but here recognized and observed a different style...I say Fine!

And we still disagree, and got along, expressing our differences in a more contained style!

What is there to be unhappy about with that??

I say Bravo!

I hearby give y'all permission to DISAGREE WITH ME! LOL!

I’m a social conservative, but I’m not interested in bringing it up on this thread unless the discussion of the community comes to subjects in that direction. The front page has plenty of threads on all subjects. We try to keep our few in our family here as friends, so we come to this thread to escape flame wars(for the most part).

If one of our members is deliberately trying to start trouble, he/she will no longer be considered a member of the family. I’m sorry Guennie feels the way she does, but I’ve never seen Peach act in the way she’s claimed. Coming in here and blasting her the way she did in her “Farewell Opus” is not something we do here. Efforts to throw members of this small family against one another are petty and small. If you don’t like our family, go back to the rest of the board. Most likely, you and I will agree and back each other up on threads, but just leave this one alone, please.

I'd forgotten you supported CFR?? How could you!! Shame, shame, but you've seen the light. That is good....

I hope you know I was kidding you...

Now I'm off to bring in some outside things...the wind is picking up more...

As I said, I was responding to a ping. I DID NOT bring up the name of any specific FReeper banned or otherwise.

If my post somehow disturbs the unity of this thread, I apologize and I won’t be at all offended if the post is removed from the thread.

Welcome to ATRW! If we seem to be subdued today, it is because we have lost some people here and we’re in mourning. But welcome.

I apologize for any misunderstanding. Like I said, on just about any other thread, you and I would probably have each other’s backs on most issues.

I remember the last day of USA vs Clintoon. A+Bert started the thread at 3 AM and was pinging everybody to wake up, because Dubya was taking office that day. I thought it was hillarious when I woke up, three hours later...

I guess we’re not “subdued” after all.

Note to self (again): Read ENTIRE post before posting!

I hate ugliness, Guenevere. Your coming here to this thread to attack Peach is ugly. So is the owner's posting "Up yours, ass-wipe", "Get out", "You're so stupid" and other vulgarisms. So is the gloating over the banned freepers...a picture of a graveyard w/Peach's name on a tombstone, for instance. That one was really low and hurt, Guenevere, imo w/innocent Kay in her grave now.

I hate abortion as much as you do, but until the law is changed, there are women who will continue "choosing" to abort their children. At least, the recent SCOTUS ruling prevents the most heinous form of abortion....incremental step, but that's "one small step for mankind". I have 5 adult children, 12 grandchildren, and 1 greatgrandchild.....proof that my family is pro-life to the max...if you need any proof.

I might remind you that no president makes law; that's Congress' job, and Supreme Court judges rule on whether those laws are constitutional. I have made no decision yet on which candidate I will support, for I hope to learn about each one before I give him my own vote. You say that you are "passionate"....well, at least consider that others are just as "passionate" about their own choice. The degree of conservatism of each candidate has been the crux of most differences.

I wish that this website were one of civil discussions of the candidates, but some have turned it into a bloodbath. Such rending of civil discourse is doing the work of the DNC imo as well as destroying the fabric of FR.

We're grown ups, Genevere. We have differing opinions, but I honestly think that one and all wish the best for this nation.

We do not need you lecturing us or bringing your name-calling to this little community of friends.

Guenevere...

All these years you come and gone and returned again to FR and ATRW..often so distressed, and unhappy....

Peach is gone, and yes, I'll miss her. But I also am grateful to Jim Robinson for this site, and while I don't understand his recent actions, I'm going to continue sending in my monthly pledge! Is not THAT support???

And can't I hold both those opinions simultaneously??

Guenevere, your unhappiness has often worried me. Maybe I should have expressed this sooner, and in other circumstances. I remember some happy times we had and some laughs. I remember your taking the initiative on the cruise, and always, always, I'll be grateful for that to you.

But Peach is gone, so what good does it do to come here today, and bring it all up again?

Your post last Wed seemed to show more self-understanding...

If FR brings you so much sorrow and anger, it's best to stay away. Go in peace, please.

HI HOB! Well we do discuss politics here...just carefully, for the most part calmly...

And further more, when there have been some over-stated disagreements, I remember an apology or 2...

RD, I hope Jack is better soon.

She passsed away last week.

When checking in and finding an old friend is gone, it puts the disputes on the board in perspective, doesn't it?
