Well at first I was mixed about Sg1 being canceled, but after seeing previews for this coming week episode (Basically Sam goes to a pararell universe where Earth is under attack by the Ori) is basically a remake of a season 1 episode.. Guess which one.....

"There but for the grace of God". That's when Daniel traveled to a parallel universe. They had this repeating motive throughout the series. I know, I am such a dork but I bought all seasons on DVD and now and then I have my husband suffer through a Stargate weekend marathon :)

I love Sci-fi since I was a kid when flying saucers were being spotted everywhere. However, tonight I will watch “Sherman” on cable.

Same here...this is the consequence of NBC buying SciFi! I stopped watching NBC and I suscribe to iTunes for SG1 and Atlantis. For some reason I don’t care for Battlestar Galactica. I remember when SG1 first came out they were on Showtime, Friday nights at 9PM.

The weird thing about the promo for it is the announcer guy caller her Amanda.

But really, since last season I’ve been catching up on all the SG1’s since I only watch it beginning with the Ori, well, some boring episodes from 2003 where they do a space race and the one where the people have a chip on their head, but they tend to do the same shows over again but usually with a twist, like they’re connected and a continuation more then just redoing.

So far, the worst episode of all is the one where they go to the planet with the American Indians. Awful, simplistic, offensive. The American Indians are all portrayed as 2 year olds or otherwise mentally impaired. It’s a good think the space monsters they live with bury their stargate.

Oh yeah, and how stupid were those space monsters? Can’t even think of burying the stargate on their own. Some super advanced space race they turned out to be.

Maybe that one takes place in alternate universe were everyone is a moron?

That heavy-handed "noble savage" theme persisted through the ST Voyager series. I never got a chance to see the original series airing and am catching up now. Awful doesn't begin to describe it.
That, and some fantasy episodes written apparently by gays on crack makes watching certain episodes truly painful.

I don’t know if I know which fantasy themed ones you’re writing about but your post reminds me of the awful, gay, cross-dressing episodes of Hercules. At that point, Xena was way more butch. I can see why Keven Sorbo left to be Captain Dillon Hunt.

Which reminds me I still have to pick up season five. Now there was a show, not much budget but I enjoyed most of the episodes.

Glad you’re still among the living, and will the fan base survive no Battlestar Galactica until January, 2k8?

i’m already going though serious withdrawal...although the final was lame IMO.

Sort of. Carter stops the Ori from attacking Earth fairly quickly, then there is what comes after that...

Yep, it is another parallel universe, Carter out thinks them all episode, but her cocktail dress makes it worth watching.
