Her original story was that ehr husband criticized her for her profligacy with money, and just criticized her too much in general. He was always arguing with her and she just snapped.
Now that she has hired a defense attorney she's saying that her husband beat her and raped her and that he was a pornography addict.
Interesting shift in her story.

"...she did not pull the trigger. She heard a "boom" as the shotgun fired, she said. "Something went off," Mary Winkler said..."
Ah, I see, the shot gun did it!
Free Mary Winkler!
Execute the shotgun!!!

This woman was just simply out of it.
Did she commit murder?
I don't think so.
Manslaughter 1.

It seems that telling lies isn’t too difficult for those willing to commit murder.

What brand of shotgun did she pick-up? Was it a modified pump? I haven’t been following this story as you can tell.

I don’t know what to believe with this story. If she’s found “not guilty” I don’t know if I would trust her to be a safe around her children.

Her husband was physically and sexually abusive, she said. Hire a divorce lawyer and get a restraining order. Tennessee doesn't honor the "He needed killing" defense.

This is an extreme example of why knowing and being known through fellowship in the local Church is so important.
Second, I will wait until all the facts come out. I have seen some reports that she was involved in some sort of criminal activity.

A week or so ago,a female physician near Boston was arrested for having killed her husband. At her first court appearance it was obvious that her she had suffered a serious beating given the obvious injuries that were evident on her face.
She's using the "abusive husband" defense...and that first court appearance suggests that she might be telling the truth.
The more evidence this minister's wife has of abuse the more closely folks are likely to listen to her.No evidence...no "not guilty" verdict,IMO.

Didn’t I read somewhere not too long ago that she was “kiting” checks between two bank a/c’s and the banks had caught on and she was going to be exposed to her hubby?

Did she confide to ANYONE about her problems who could corroborate this ?
I understand that a lack of confidantes is an "occupational hazard" for pastor's wives.
I also know that clergy are under tremendous pressure, and not all of it is human; I think that are under attack from spiritual sources.
But I wish this woman had just gotten in the car and fled home to Momma, instead of killing her husband.
