Since all the gardening gals are here, I want to tell you about an author....Anthony Eglin...I've discovered. He's written 2 mysteries: The Blue Rose, and the Lost Gardens

The latter is the one I'm reading and it's a page turner...decent gardening info...attractive setting: England's West Country and characters.

Now I'm particular...Josephine Tey and Ngaio Marsh are my favorites and the standard, but this book is not bad at all...

And you know we're crying out for something good & diverting to read...

I’ll order them from Amazon to read this summer. You have made good recommendations in the past.

I just heard from Kay’s church. At this time, plans have not been formulated. But they will let me know ASAP and we can move from there.

I’ll be on the trail for those books, MP. Thanks for the recommendation(s). I love to get names of good authors. I’m reading P.D. James at the moment, but I’ve run into some real losers lately.

If you’re into mysteries(I prefer Tom Clancy, military history, or books on Catholicsm), might I recommend Martin Cruz Smith’s ‘Arkady Renko’ series? “Gorky Park”, “Polar Star”, and “Red Square”. He wrote a fourth one, I think it was called “Havana Bay”, but it wasn’t nearly as good.

The first three are brilliant ‘police procedural’ novels about a Moscow detective in the old Soviet Union and ends with the downfall of the Communists in ‘89-90. Like I said, it’s a very good trilogy.
