Dolly came up w/this marvelous idea, IG. It is so fitting for Kay imo.
Between Kay and my neighbor both leaving, I have been trying to keep myself busy with grandkid stuff and housework, as well as prayer. The Virginia Tech thing is so overwhelmingly sorrowful that I can't really comprehend it. So many promising young lives snuffed out for no good reason.
thanx folks Please ping me to any updates and decisions.

Good morning everybody. We were out of town over the weekend and traveling yesterday. Thank you for the recap on the V-Tech shootings, Chairman, I’ve scarcely had time to even touch on that horrible event.
Such sorrowful happenings, it’s hard to imagine how a person can just go off completely unhinged. I’m going to be saying several prayers for all involved.
Jemian, thank you for the thread and ping about kay yesterday. I also would like to contribute to her memorial when the decision is made.
Yes, the contribution to Jemian’s mission work, via Kay’s church, would be perfect, IMO. Very, very suitable in so many ways. Great idea, Dolly!
Hi Molly - I am so sad about Kayak. After yesterday’s awful news to boot, I feel very sad indeed. Both my twin brothers graduated with bachelors and masters degrees from VA Tech and one even did student teaching there, he married in the chapel on the campus, and they both love Tech. It is so tragic to think such a great university will forever be the site of such a dispicable act. They always say UVA is harder to get in but VT is harder to stay in (meaning a better education) and anyone who ever went to VT is passionate about the school.
Sorry I’m so late, but I overslept. I’m not going to stoop down to the RATS level, so I won’t try politicizing what happened in Blacksburg, but you can bet your bottom dollar that they and the other gungrabbers will.
Yes, you describe the school perfectly. That's what I've heard too from my Va.relatives.
I have some cousins at VCU also...don't know about its reputation, but they seem to do well.
Hi ABG. They already are. You should read the column from some NY lib...gad, it’s awful. Limbaugh was just quoting it. The writer refers to Sen. Webb’s recent gun incident, but doesn’t point out he’s a Dem...the whole column indiscriminately slams Virginia and its so-called gun culture.
Just got an e-mail back from my brother (professor now in IL) and his daughter knows one of the injured, went to school together in Harrisonburg, VA - shot twice in the leg had surgery but doing well now. My niece is at JMU but almost went to VT, she is very upset with the events like the rest of the kids. My brother says his students where he teaches are upset, if it could happen at tech they say it could happen to them too. He had to talk to them about rationalizing the rarity of the event.
Yep, my heart is breaking for Kayak today upon hearing the news.
I had to run a quick errand...It occurs to me that I’ve been hearing about this school all my life, and still think of it as VPI. When did the name change? Maybe my mother had a cousin or something who went there. But she went to Longwood, and would talk about that, then VPI would come up too.
Colonel ran under our Jeep. Greg went for the garage door remote..opened the door and corralled Colonel into the garage.
Sarah took some pictures, but hasn't sent them to my computer, yet.
Colonel looks like this...
That is one handsome rooster!! Thanks for the smile, lysie.
Are you feeling better?
Beautiful coloring on the rooster, lysie. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any other like it.
Not really...going to do a few things, then crawl into bed.No big deal.... How are you?
Great idea hon.
Thanks for that.
Hope you are doing well.
Make sure you take time for you.
