No question he should have had a seatbelt on. Isn't that why we pay extra money for cars...crash tests and such?
He may not be my fav person , but I sincerely wish him well.
Yeah, but you can’t beat their bread! ;-))
LOL
Hey mister...just waiting for a sucker to bite, huh? Me, me, I will..
What is this..chopped liver. ;-)
Speaking of food..cooked anything good lately?
You are so right about the bread!...there are probly a few other things too...:-)
YUM!
Actually, I have been on a bread kick (making Sister Virginia’s Daily White right now, from Bernard Clayton’s New Complete Book of Breads) and then a New York-style pizza Holy Grail search...made a pizza last night that was completely homemade: sauce dough, etc (didn’t make the cheese ;-))....I used unbleached bread flour, made the dough in a bread machine, let it sit in the fridge for 3 DAYS (it really makes it better), and baked it at 500 for 10 minutes...Shepherd’s Pie tonite...;-))
There's far too much over processed food out there....
oh my.....
the set of love songs, I'll be singing for my husband...
another about the gift of music and love, for my father...
and the Randall Thompson piece using a Robert Frost poem for the text for Kay, and my wonderful conservative friends here. It brought me to tears at rehearsal this a.m., and I wish you could hear the music as it's perfect and so dramatic and powerful, but here's the text, and it is too:
O star
We grant your loftiness the right
To some obscurity of cloud-
It will not do to say of night,
Since dark is what brings out your light.
Some mystery becomes the proud.
But to be wholly taciturn
In your reserve is not allowed.
Say something to us we can learn
by heart and when alone repeat.
Say something! And it says "I burn."
But say with what degree of heat.
Talk Fahrenheit, talk Centigrade.
Use language we can comprehend
Tell us what elements you blend.
It gives us strangely little aid,
But does tell something in the end.
And steadfast as Keats' Eremite,
Not even stooping from its sphere,
It asks a little of us here.
It asks of us a certain height,
So when at times the mob is swayed
To carry praise or blame too far,
We may choose something like a star
To stay our minds on and be staid.
......unchanging, firm, eternal... lasting things....
For whatever problem you are experiencing, we’ll pray it will go away. The Good Lord takes care of everything.
Congratulations to Da Kid for his being elected into the Order of the Eagle. It sounds impressive. Though I have no idea what it is.
The funny thing is, Clayton said that French bread flour, made from Western European high-glten wheat, is equiv. to 3 parts American AP flour to one part American unbleached bread flour....i was making French bread with all bread flour, so I guess to be ‘authentic’ I should try the new formula...;-))
Hi Darlin, so nice to see you.
Lots of catching up to do.
Everyone is fed and spending a little family time before my sister heads to her hotel for the evening.
Looks like they down graded the nor’easter to just an all rain event here so I am feeling better that they’ll get off ok tomorrow morning..........(if Mom doesn’t get on my nerves too badly through the night !!! lol)
Second weekend in a row of sauce, meatballs and pasta.
I told the kids I am NOT cooking next week.
Wish I could be there.
Do you realize everybody missed you ?
I’m watching CSpan...Lincoln Day Dinner..
Even you??? ;-)
Baby is down for the night (I hope), and I be real tired!
