(Vanity) War with Iran (Vanity)

I've been listening to Glenn Beck a lot lately and tend to agree that we are going to have to take Iran out pretty soon. I also agree that war is exactly what those nut-jobs want from us. I completely disagree with Beck's blending his take on end-times prophesy with geo-politics because that is exactly what Mahmoud is doing, and frankly, it is just nuts. Jesus is going to come back whenever He does. There is nothing we can do to affect this either way.

The purpose of my vanity is to express my fear that W will try to fight a "kinder, gentler war" again. This American is absolutely done with that nonesense. We haven't actually won a war since we started "kinda-fighting" wars.

The idea that we have a beef with a government and not its people is retarded. The Iraqi government was in place because the people would not rise up, and this is even more true of Iran. If we have to take these guys out, do it the Biblical way. Flatten the place with extreme prejudice and make them an example to the region. Had we done this in Iraq, we would be done re-building the place now and at 25% the cost, and Ahmadinejad and company would be saying things like "Wanna come over for tea, George? Is $35/barrell low enough, George?"

If we make it crystal clear that we are going to demolish that country, hospitals, schools, agriculture, and all, then maybe the people will wise up and take the nut jobs out in the street and take care of business. But, if they make us come over there, we better bring it this time.

That is a simple, yet great line. It's that idea that cost us Korea and Vietnam, and now Iraq.

We just don’t have a choice this time. You can’t leave anything behind when fighting people who know the difference betwen uranium 235 and uranium 238. We have to take them back to the stone age.

It’s not all about peace, love, and understanding with those people, no matter what the propagandists would have us believe. They aren’t going to be throwing flowers.

Unfortunately the war planners will most likely rely on JDAMS, its a fair comparison of trying to kill a fire ant nest in your front yard, do you wait for them to come above ground and fry them one at a time with a magnifying glass? They will never leave and in mass will still overcome you.

You need to pour about 5 gallons of diesel fuel over the nest and light it. When that is done stick a hose down in the nest and flood it or pump some exhaust gas into it, even ats will give up and find a new home.

We need to break the islamic religious cult apart, start a massive public education of what Islam is, if need to be restrict it or ultimately ban it in the US.

If we need to do a war act on Iran it needs to be something that will break the spirit of the Islamic jihaad, sadly its worse than the Japanese of WW2 and it took the almost complete destruction of Tokyo by fire and of course the two atomic devices to do that.

JDAMS are good to take out defenses, but after that, the forward controllers ought to trade in their lasers for great big spot lights like the ones used to identify used car sales.

I agree to an extent:

1. Next time we definitely need to declare war,; it will make it harder for Democrats to pull out if they can’t deny that it’s a legitimate war.

2. From now until bombing day we need to make it very clear to the Iranian people that if they don’t take down their own government we’ll wage war on their country. People are responsible for the government they have to an extent - even in dictatorships. We fought for our own freedom without waiting on a foreign power to help us; they should at least initiate a rebellion.

3. We should avoid civilian casualties to the extent that it doesn't impede our path to victory.

4. No more MSM embedding with the troops.

5. Let’s have a real surprise attack this time.

There is not enough time for Bush to get this done. It took 15 mo to go into Iraq with all the back and forth to the UN and 2 congressional resolutions.

I think W knows this is a life and death matter for our way of life, he talks that way for sure, but his deeds haven't been draconian enough for me.

We should avoid civilian casualties, but we must not go to the lengths we have in the past, and certainly not to the lengths the IDF goes to. Mahmoud is not dumb, he will have 5 civilans srrounding every tank and SAM he has.

Oh, I think he should skip the U.N. this time except for just obligatoy resolution support. It sounds like resolutions and maybe sanctions will be passed anyway.

If Iranian civilians know that we’ll still bomb priority targets even if it means collateral damage they may have more incentive to initiate their own rebellion. So I agree with that. I just don’t think we should go in and flatten neighborhoods at random (or nuke them). So maybe I misunderstood your original point.

No nukes. that’s the whole idea, isn’t it? My point is to erase their infrastructure. But moreso, where exactly do you think they hid their nuke sites? In the middle of the desert with one road terminating at a guard shack or under a school or, more likely, a hospital to provie cover for the radioactivity. Those sites need to become giant holes in the ground, preferrably with minimal civilian death, but in no way do I want our guys (and I have family serving) going door to door again. No way. We win it conclusively and quickly. We kille enough of them that they don’t ever decide to mess with us again, like Japan. Then we send in the Mormons and the Jehova’s Witnesses to monitor the situation.

Sounds like a plan to me, Islams worst fears are Jehovahs Witnesses, they were originally called the Zionist Society and though they are not jewish their beliefs are parallel, I know a bit about them as I was one up until about when I turned 15 years old and I said enough of it and walked away.
I know of a greater fear, have Israel invade and take control of Iran and extend the Jewish laws there.

My point was that if there has to be any “door to door” work, I want it to be Christians evangelizing. I want us to win so decisively that we can send hoards of nametag-wearing, Bible-thumping, Americans over there.
