Just a little story which may brighten your day.

Facebook is a website at which people can leave messages with their friends and share pictures. Before you can communicate with another account at Facebook you have to establish a “friendship” with that person by sending a “friend request.” Mostly students do this. I have a Facebook account as it allows me to keep up with my kids, their friends and kids who grew up out here. You select an avatar to represent you. Most people post pictures of themselves. I chose Ann Coulter.

Various groups are formed such as “the Josh Lott Fan Club” or “Hillcrest International School” and one which is anti-Hitlery. It is at the former that I posted something and next to my post is my avatar.

Within a short period of time I had two friend requests from young men I had never met. LOL! The picture of Ann shows her long blond hair and legs. How disappointed these guys must be that I am a dumpy frumpy woman in her 50s.

To be fair, perhaps it is my conservative leanings and they figured anyone with an Ann Coulter avatar must be ok. And they haven’t sent any inappropriate messages, or even any messages whatsoever. Perhaps they just wanted an additional name in their friend list. No matter.

I was just amused at the speed these young men wanted to make the acquaintance of my avatar.

Sorry. I didn’t mean to break the thread.
